The judge juxtaposed on the wooden outhouse doors is horrifying. The devil himself

Captures the novel very well, you are not in suspense of the violence.

God willam defoe could do a Godly Job at playing the judge, I never thought of that until now.

But isn't the judge obese or at least very big?
@GabZonY Жыл бұрын
he'd probably nail it acting wise, he's pretty far from what i imagine Holden's physique as, unfortunately. he's not very large or intimidating, and a bit older than i'd imagine the judge.
@jazzlaugh6578 Жыл бұрын
@GabZonY True. Personally always saw the judge as that weird kinda strong-fat some people get? Like, big ass muscles but a bit of a belly too. Also imagined him being middle aged, so Willam Dafoe could work age wise, still not physique wise. Although all of the Judge's nude scenes would be super intimidating with Willam Dafoe's massive swinging cock. So that's a plus.

He is scary as shit, but I think Dafoe would be a better Glanton

The judge was described as nearly 7 feet tall, massive, threatening, and a hairless albino... Willem Dafoe is 68 years old, 5'09", 170lb. Not even close. If this gets done, it needs to be done right.

Had a hard time trying to find this great video. People would freak out if they saw this at the theater. Maybe you could change the title so it's easier to search.

Tweaked the title a little and added some tags. Thanks for the suggestion!

It’s the 1840’s, the peak of the Wild West, after the Mexican American war has ended. The disputed lands of the American Southwest are a three-way battleground. Even though the war is officially over, US and Mexican tensions are rough, with rogue filibusters on both sides stirring up trouble in the borderlands. All the while Native American tribes are also involved, launching guerilla attacks on soldiers and civilians alike and slaughtering colonials on both sides. Thus the US and Mexico begin paying ruffians as scalphunters; for every Native scalp taken, the scalphunters would be paid. Thus, the main characters, the Glanton Gang, are tasked by Mexico to combat native militia groups and be paid as mercenaries for every scalp they take. As the story goes on, the Glanton Gang becomes more depraved and sadistic, attacking innocent Native American villages. They don’t do it out of racism (hell, some of the Glanton Gang are Native Americans themselves), but out of materialistic greed and love of bloodshed. The Glanton Gang were never good people, but they still devolve into the outright butchering of unthreatening Native Americans unprotected Mexican (they find out that the Mexican government can’t distinguished Native American scalps from Mexican scalps) villages, and eventually even the Mexican army and anyone else who crosses their path. In the end, they just begin scalping their prey out of habit than blood money, their degeneracy aided and supervised by a malignant Judge.

@@wyrmboi6172 hah, story of some humans I guess. Even if it's fictional
@wyrmboi6172 Жыл бұрын
@randomstranger9849 actually Blood Meridian is partially based on the real-life Glanton gang, their exploits and carnage mostly documented by Samuel Chamberlain's "Confessions of a Rogue". John Glanton was a real life person, with the Yuma attack and the Chihuahua city killings being real cataloged events... and Judge Holden was a real person too.

Willem Dafoe... Gary Oldman 😂 who tf are they gonna play? Maybe Oldman could work as Glanton. Don't see a good role for Dafoe.
