Did anyone else get teary eyed when Geralt and Ciri had a snowball fight? :') It felt so good to see them smile and having fun for a change that I just couldn't help smile like a goofball and get all teary eyed :') Even after playing the game and watching Chris play it, seeing that moment it hits me right in the feels every time :')

9:10 you know... the members of the Lodge that are alive are actually more or less trustworthy. With the obvious exception of Philippa. That one shouldn´t not be trusted in any circunstance. Margarita is a kind-hearted person and Fingilla, without the snake Phillipa giving her orders, is actually a cool gal. At least she looked like it, in the books. Ida, so far looks like a levelheaded person.

I personally think that you made the right decision about taking Ciri to the Emperor. He's her father, regardless of Geralt's feelings, she should be given choice whether or not she wants to see him. Concealing this fact from her is making decision for her and Ciri's story arc is largely about having enough of others making decisions for her, she wants to decide her own fate.

Geralt is not concealing anything, if you tell her that Emhyr wanted to see her she asks what Geralt thinks. You learn that Yennefer already mentioned and talked that about Ciri.Ciri asks Geralt's opinion and I don't think Geralt would say "Probably just wants to talk, promised me he wouldn't force you to do anything." after all that happened and knowing Emhyr.Emhyr asks something from Ciri and she is not happy about it so clearly Geralt was wrong.

Arda Ergin Spoiler First: Geralt doesn't know Yennefer told Ciri until after making the decision so Geralt would be concealing it. And we don't even know what Yen said (she may just have mentioned that Emperor wanted her found, not that he wants to talk to her etc.) Second: Emhyr promised not to force Ciri to do anything and he doesn't. I don't like Emhyr and if I were controlling Ciri I would probably refuse. But it's her decision to make, not Geralt's.

Kordass Yes Geralt does not what Yennefer told Ciri. If you tell her Emhyr wanted to see her she asks for Geralt's opinion and even if you say probably just wants to talk it's stil not Ciri making her own decision.

I did exactly the same as you Chris regarding the emperor even though I would have preferred not to, but I considered it the right thing to do as they both deserved a chance to speak to one another. Ciri is old enough to decide for herself.

Remember when they lifted the curse from uma/avallach. Back then they said things don't look good at all for him. Yen even mentioned even if she can save him there'll be permanent damage of some sort, something about his nerves iirc. But here he seems plenty fine to me, I just find it weird.

Odarus Wilde there are a lot of misconceptions about the trial of grasses. Yen is not a sage, so she does not know everything and the trial is a topic with a lot of forgotten secrets. She might have studied it as much as she could in the past, because she wanted to know what the trial might have done to Geralt´s mind and body but it is very unknown topic. Even for sages, and Yen is no sage.

Am I the only one who agree's with Avallac'h regarding Ciri's powers? I mean, if that's how she reacted to seeing VEsemir dying, how would she react if she thought Geralt or Yennefer where dying? I mean, Ciri is a danger to herself and the people she loves so she should definitively tyr to master her powers a bit

gabo Yeah, there definitely are some OP builds that make the fights very easy. But my build probably wasn't too excellent. Either way, didn't have any problem with final boss, I don't think I even used a Swallow once, but Imlerith was a challenge (not very hard, but still pretty challenging).

Maybe someday Eskel will come back to Kaer Morhen, in a future game when they start training new witchers, he'll become their Vesimir and be the glue that holds them all together and keeps them coming back home for the winter. Ugg this game was so sad on so many levels.

I'm running patch 1.12, and the cutscene at 16:19 is so damn dark. Gamma is up to 80% and it is still so dark in comparison. I also use the FantasyFX preset with additional Gamma for dark area's, and it's acceptable, but nowhere near as clear/bright as this video. >

Lo-Res Gamer I get the connection you made but it's not his invention, it's a real place and not even in Russia. It's very close to where I live and the sabath is organized every year to this date but nowadays it's nothing like you'd have thought it is;) The original fabled one is just an excuse to organize many cultural events focused on folklore and generally entertainment in city Kielce and adjacent area. The biggest and most known is Sabat Czarownic (literally Witches' Sabath) that gathers artists and comedians from around the country with addition of special foreign guests. It's quite a big thing in Poland. Here you go, a bunch of useless trivia. You're welcome :p

Can someone clear something up for me? Here I thought the Wild Hunt were spectres, but obviously now, Imlerith's an elf and Caranthir was avallac'h's student, so probably an elf too, we saw Eredin's face and he too was an elf. So are the Wild Hunt elves/elfs or spectres, or is there some type of ranking system where the spectres are ruled by the elves/elfs? (I know I could just look it up on some wiki, but I'd rather not spoil anything for myself ^^)

Pepijn Vermeulen Comanders are meat and bones. Caranthir, Eredin and Imlerith come to this world in person. The rest of the army is suposed to be specter images of warrior elves.

Still plotting, betraying and slaughtering everyone in the way of reclaiming your precious Silmarils, pursuing your oath hehe. But seriously they couldn't give the better name to arrogant, ruthless elf that has almost genocidal tendencies, than this one, it's very fitting hehe. I hate Emhyr, here he is, a man basically responsible for three world wars, slaughter and destruction unprecedented in the continent's history, who cynically used Ciri's mother Pavetta for his own gain and in the end is responsible for her death as well as Ciri's grandmother Calanthe and Slaughter of Cintra her homeland (not to mention that he used king Roegner's vulnerable position so he could demand yet unborn Pavetta), whose agents looked for Ciri at all costs harming people in the way, all over the world so he could use her in horrible way (so what he changed his mind in the end, does that erase his evil deeds? NO!), who wishes to rule the world, ughh and people in fandom actually believe in-universe nilfgaardian propaganda that they are better than Nordlings huh, I wouldn't let Ciri anywhere near that nest of vipers Nilfgaard is, with it's nobility as treacherous and backstabbing as you can get, over even minor grievances (the blood feud of Sweers and Varnhagens in Geso is example of this 'enlightened' nation's inner fighting). Nilfgaard sheeh oh so 'civilized' and yet, they slaughtered defenseless prisoners with not only use of weapons but sawmill tools (Baptism of Fire book), their Gemmerian Pacificators known for their cruelty commited numerous atrocities in bloody quelling of rebellions in the provinces, and not to mention that they practice slavery, give land on conquered territories to their own people often in the place of burned down settlements of locals. Geralt shouldn't have brought ciri there, but instead to novigrad, to emrys, his armies would be plentiful to die protecting her, the old man might not have died, nor ciri but emrys certainly would, if Geralt brought ciri there I can see the wild hunt ripping emrys's head and spinal cord out from his back. The other guy next in line would've probably acted the wuss a cower behind a pillar shitting himself, or maybe he'd run for an empty horse stables to hide himself in the shit to cover his scent.

I'm guessing if you had taken the coin, what emrys was offering ciri would've tempted her to follow her birth right, seems cucky of Geralt to allow such a prick to purchase ciri's love and future, Geralt would more likely feel the hurt of his pride first, a witchers pride is not to be offended nor a actual father's.

Ok, 3 years later and I'm watching this... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand man I'm so annoyed XDDD. this is when you effed up the whole thing. Damnit, I find the empress ending even more heart wrenching than the "bad" one (mostly because I never bought that Ciri died in that one, just that she chose not to go back, rather going to whatever other world she liked more than one where he had an asshole adoptive father XD)... Seriously if there's something Ciri craves to no end, and it shows it almost everytime she speaks, is to be free, to do whatever she pleases, not to be bound nor chained by anything related to her gift(s) (be it elder blood, or imperial nor royal blood). She's spent all her life being in the middle of plots of people who want to take advantage of her and all she wants is to be free of that bullshit... and taking her to the emperor you end up setting things for an ending where she'll be forever bound into power, always limited in what she can do, married to a man she doesn't like at all, subjected to neverending plots, and in short, being a slave of both her blood and her position....until the end of her days. To put it in short words - you caged the swallow. Can't do anything worse than that. Damnit, man, and you were doing it all so right in this playthrough :P :P :P.

LOL :P. Hey, it's what made this game so brilliant, that people would really feel for the characters you met in the story. I think they're so damned brilliant because everyone, somehow, resonates with one or the other, to some degree, so in some sense we can "feel" what they feel in the story. That happens with Ciri for me, so, yeah, it's only a game.... But man, what a game ;)

Yeah i got this ending on my 2nd playthrough because i didn’t wanna get the same one as my first (which was the one where she becomes a witcher) and it just didn’t sit right with me but doesn’t she still kinda abandon her position at the end of blood and wine and goes to live with gerald if you didn’t romance triss od yen

Taking Ciri to see the Emperor doesn't lock in that ending for her though. Making the right choice in the timed decision at the end of Reason of State gives the optimal ending for both Ciri and the north imo.

Setas Spoiler He could possibly still get the best ending - but i don't think so. If you don't know which choices will activate which ending its nearly impossible to see the outcome in my opinion. The easiest way is surely to skip that trip to the emperor at all.

Martin Bundschu In my opinion, whether an ending is consider bad, good or best depends wholly on the player. What you believe to be the best ending might simply be the good or even the bad ending for Chris, depending on how he feels about the characters and how he envisions them to live their life after this is all over. For example, to my opinion, I got the best ending in my game but after reading opinions of others, some people feel that the ending that I got which felt like the best outcome to me, would be considered to be the bad ending for them. That's what I love about the endings of this game :) There's no concrete good, bad or best ending. It's all in the opinion of the player.

Nero Mystyra Spoiler Well, there is one really sad ending and two other endings. If i get it right you like the Empress ending? I had the Ciri -> Empress Ending at first too but it felt so bittersweet seeing her leave Geralt to rule a country she hasn't got any real relation to besides her "natural" father being the ruler of it. To me it simply doesn't feel right and fitting. I can't see this being what she ever wanted for her life. But you are obviously right - every player can have his own thoughts about that and his own opinion. I was just personally so sad after the empress ending that i replayed the whole part after the battle in kaer morhen. :)

Martin Bundschu Spoiler Actually I got the ending where Ciri becomes a Witcher but that's not the part that made it the "best" ending for me, it was the culmination of all the others things put together that made the overall ending feel like the best outcome for me such as Radovid dead therefore no non-humans were unnecessarily killed and by Emhyr having won the war, he allowed the Temerians to have their country back in exchange for not having rebel raids attack his empire and as the narrator says "and once again history proved a consummate trickster" (couldn't have said that part any better myself!) as well as Skellige prospered under the rule of Cerys and Geralt retired to a peaceful life with Yennefer, away from bullshit politics and life threatening monsters where they can have great sex all day long xD Some people don't find my ending to be the best for them because they either want Radovid to win the war, Hjalmar to be king of Skellige, Geralt to end up with Triss instead of with Yennefer or simply end up with neither and go back to doing what he does best, Witchering. I didn't like the Empress ending because in that ending Ciri will know no peace and happiness. The life of a busy ruler is definitely not what she wants and she would endlessly be targeted for assassination.

I am surprised that almost anybody gets no serious injuries. No blood (expect for Lambert) or at least some holes the clothes have either. I think these details could give the whole picture more serious and dark mood as it is supposed to be after a battle. But the creators decided to show us beautiful untouched breasts, shoulders or waists of fighters instead of reality. Anyway, the game is superb and this is the only one, let's say, rude mistake I can see.

In the books Ciri doesn’t know Emhyr is her father. Emhyr (the emperor) wants to marry Ciri and have a son with her, even though he knows she's his daughter. They left the incest part out of the game

Cole Hartgrove Spoilers. You did get "neutral" ending. Unless you let Radovid or Djikstra live. Then you could possibly get a "good ending" (even if you took Ciri to see Emhyr), but I can't in any way justify letting those guys live. You can get a "bad" ending ether way though. I'm afraid that Odd can be a little too overprotective of her, but we'll see how it goes.
