17:24 That's why Ciri went to fight the crones, if Geralt had seen them looking like that he'd have ended up sleeping with them instead of fighting them.

@amazinggaming7284
@amazinggaming7284 7 жыл бұрын
Miles Curtis Watson rolling is pretty much inferior to dodging except for certain circumstances. Rolling uses a bit of stamina, so while rolling you don't regenerate it, when fighting humans and non-humans rolling propels you too far so it's harder to land a hit, dodging generally looks cooler when dodging a charge, and dodging is more immersive. Seriously, it looks plain silly watching him roll all over the place.

For the hardest boss in the game (from what the comments said in the last video) you really pulled it off well. Very slowly and methodicaly, even though it could have been much shorter, I think. Well done. You can really notice why the fight was hard: Imlerith is very tanky, and very quick and responsive while not comboing. He had very quick recovery wielding his shield and an unstopable combo later, with a lighting reaction upon hitting him. I could see why people would have trouble beating him. My initial fear during the cutscene was that either the arena is small or very angled (thankfully wasn't any of those) or that the sucubii would join him. And that ending cutscene was so good... Last words of a true warrior. I kind of respect Imlerith. His head getting squashed might have been a bit too much though, but I wouldn't have risked getting through that armor if I were in Geralt's position either.

Uzii technically I used my Quen sign to hold off his combo... And Igni of course to melt his armor. Other signs or combat builds appear to be no use against Imlerith. Cow's milk too, it saved me omg thank you cows

@Postalpacifist 9 жыл бұрын
Uzii It seems like the teleport phase boils down to a fancy quick time event. Just hit dodge when he disappears. 3 teleports & then you get a phase where you can hit him once or twice, and repeat x a billion
@Keldrath
@Keldrath 9 жыл бұрын
Uzii It's the hardest boss but it's still an easy fight. He could have done a lot of things better like using Igni to remove his frost armor so he could do some real damage to him, or chaining fast attacks after he maxes out in the second phase so he can get more hits in. He kept going for a strong attack or a fast followed by a strong which meant he only got 1 hit in instead of the several he could get with just spamming fast attack. Ekhidna carried him through the fight.
@cugelchannel4733
@cugelchannel4733 8 жыл бұрын
+Keldrath Chris's problem is that despite using Igni in almost every fight he never put any points into it to make it more powerful. Even when he redistributed the points twice he still didn't do it and keeps screwing around with the crappy alchemy tree. Alchemy is under-powered compared with signs and attacks. Notice the final cut-scene where Geralt burns Imlerith with continuous Igni? Chris doesn't even have that sign! And it is so useful since enemies stop attacking you temporarily when they are burning.

If you want Yerden to make a difference, you have to invest in it. Base Yerden makes little to none difference. Maxed out Yerden practically makes opponents stationary and inflict damage for every second an enemy is trapped there.

***** Quen and Turderbolt was my strategy against him on Death March. My Quen is not maxed out, but the alternative mode is very usefull because of the life regen with enemy hits. And Imlerith hits like a tank, so one hit from him gives you a lot of health back.

A name should be here I like that strategy, especially since his attacks' timing is more or less predictable. A character that focuses on Quen or fast stamina regen might make this one of the easiest fights. (hooray for the respec potions)
@Postalpacifist
@Postalpacifist 9 жыл бұрын
DirkAustin At a thousand orens per respec, and a fairly rare potion at that, you can hardly call that cheesing. You'll go the whole game flat broke but if it's a fight you struggle with, you use a couple to get past it & get on with the game. In modern game design, that kind of thing is intentional

what fantastic entertainment you are providing for us, absolutely top notch game play, I have been glued to each and every upload, although I must admit I am a bit envious as how you manage to be able to apply oils and take concoctions while in the middle of battles!! as with the xbox-one it won't let you do it, is it just because its the pc version?
@NeroMystyra
@NeroMystyra 9 жыл бұрын
tom0567 In the PC version you can apply decoctions and oils in battle IF you use the mouse to click on them. If you use a controller instead, it won't let you apply them while in battle. I don't know if it's a glitch or not but i'm guessing it's not intentional since you can't do it on consoles and also the Blade Oil duration upgrades skill in the Alchemy Tree would be totally useless if you can just re-apply oil whenever you want even during battle which is why I think it's some kind of glitch and not intentional. But honestly, being able to apply oil while in battle is essential...why? Because most of the time by the time you're close enough to the enemy to see what enemy it is and know which oil you need to apply, the game will already have put you into battle mode therefore you have to fight without oil. Also a lot of the time you stumble onto monsters without realizing especially if you're riding Roche at full speed so most of the time you can't even use oils because you enter battle too often and too soon.. In my opinion I think it is a stupid design choice if they intentionally don't allow you to change oils in battle, for the reasons stated above.
@tom0567
@tom0567 9 жыл бұрын
cheers for confirming this is some sort of glitch and not just me, and I totally agree with your reasoning

Fighting Imlerith up until he drops his shield is actually pretty easy, once you know how to do it. You just gotta stay on his right hand side,where he doesn't have a shield to bash you with and block all your attacks. If you just stay on that side and do the small jumps to the right all the time while beating his ass, he can't get to ya. Without the shield is a lil worse, but just keep a distance and do your best to predict when he will teleport. And just fuck him up while he's down. You can get a few hits in while he's running around like a madman, but it's very risky and best not to

What oils would one apply to their silver swords to fight Elves of the Wild Hunt like Imlerith? Hanged Man's Venom? Or maybe Relict Oil? Or is it even Specter Oil, since everyone keeps calling them Wraiths (Though this isn't their wraith projections, it's the real elves.)

Comments all say use Igni, oils, and potions to increase damage and stamina. Which is true since they do add damage. But what is very curious is that Odd is using the silver sword, which is fine on the Wild Hunt hounds. But the riders like Imlerith are humanoids - elves. Odd should have been using the steel sword with Hanged Man's Venom. I did a lot more damage using steel than silver. I did some research too and most forums only argue about the theory of the Wild Hunt being spectral or gameplay mechanic of the game auto choosing silver swords, but none did actual testing in the fight.

Old Lady Gamer He is either trying to get more views on his channel or putting out short episodes because he has no time...I think the former.

VanillaCoke1956 He always makes a shorter episodes where there is purely story focused stuff. He makes longer episodes only when he does a lot of different side activities on top of that.

Old Lady Gamer These story-heavy segments offer a convenient checkpoint structure, nothing unusual about it. I knew episodes would get shorter the moment we reached Kaer Mohren, and besides, 40 minute-long episodes are roughly what Chris planned for the entire series a few months back. As it is we still have a lot of optional content to get through so I presume the videos will get longer soon.

Old Lady Gamer He said it quite a few episodes back; If the episodes are more about exploration and side quests he will make them long. Main quest episodes (and ESPECIALLY this one) are action packed and making them shorter is also less exhausting for the viewer, but that might not be a factor for most of us, I wouldn't mind more, even the whole playthrough in one day (chris pls :P)

Is there some reason you never use food or drink, Chris? There have to be some consumables out there that give good regeneration without toxicity.

I think Ciri should kill Imlerith and Geralt the Crones. I mean Ciri had no bef with Crones while Geralt could fuck'em up for what they did to Baron and his family. And Ciri should avenge Vesemir.

I don't think you are supposed to use your silver sword for that fight.
@NeroMystyra

superunknown45 Geralt automatically pulls out the sword that would deal the most damage to the enemy he's facing. Even if you were to pull out your steel sword against Imlerith, he would simply sheathe it immediately after you hit him once with it and automatically pull out the silver sword again. That's the game's way to let you know which sword you should be using. The reason Chris was barely doing any damage to him is because he didn't get rid of his frost armor with Igni.
