I really love that you included Wearingeul's Human Problem/Issues. I've been eyeing that ink and your swatch probably sealed the deal for me. My understanding is that it is based on the themes of the Korean-language novel from 1934 of the same name, written by a female author. Seems like a true blood red was an apt choice to honor the work!

I love this theme! Happy Halloween 👻 I definitely prefer the darker more burgundy/reds like writers blood and oxblood. I’m with you on brighter reds reminding me of corrections on school assignments 😆

I made my own concoction of 30ml matador, 20ml red dragon & 10 ml oxblood all diamine of course and named it Christopher Lee's Dracula. Also have a bottle of noodlers rattler red eel for that fresh blood look.

Hahaha, great video. LOLed a little at you getting grossed out talking about blood colored swatches. I'm right there with you though! Oxblood is my go-to red. Writer's Blood is so similar but I think I need it too. I mean, who doesn't?

To my mind the best blood red isn't offered anymore. It was Noddler's Tiananmen. I recently wrote to them asking about it and got a reply from a very nice lady telling me that it was a special order item that had become very popular. Due to marketing purposes (people thought that the name had to do with the Tiananmen massacre and got offended, when in actuality they called it Tiananmen because in the Chinese/Taiwanese culture red is considered a lucky color) they discontinued it. She also told me that they were working on a rebranding of the color and will be offering it again fairly soon and that I was one of a boatload of people writing in for that color. In the meantime, I find Diamine Red Dragon is a great go to.

DeAtramentis makes a Document Dark Red color, and Noodler's Red Black also has some water resistance. If you can get samples I would test those out :)

I appreciate you doing this video even if it’s clearly not your cup of tea 🩸☕️🧛‍♂️ I was actually wondering what inks looks most like blood, I think that would be my main attraction to red ink (though I also like weirdly flat faded red/pinks for some reason). Not entirely blood related, but one ink I really want is wearingeul’s the plague because it reminds me of bruising. I like things to be just a little bit uncomfortable, spice of life 😂 samples of it are hard to come by for me though, and I’m afraid it’ll just write as a boring purple. Swatches can be so misleading 🥲

Thank you! I do like some "bloody" inks every now and then hehe. I haven't tried the Plague but from what I've seen it looks very dark purple with some sheen in writing. I do agree that swatches can showcase all the fun ink properties, but when you write with a fine nib those properties don't always shine through! 💝
