Assuming both Raiden and Hiyru will have all of their gear from every game they appeared in I would love to see how their weapons interact with each other like Monsoon’s magnetic sai’s interacting with Strider’s magnetic Cypher from Strider 2014 for example you can have the magnetic sai’s and the magnetic Cypher repel when they clash kinda like actual magnets

I just started Strider yesterday through the Capcom arcade collection and related Raiden vs Wolverine. Plus I've been listening to Rising's ost a ton lately. Quite the timing for this.

Time for a script everyone. Startup: A city is completely destroyed, but nobody knows who did it. Raiden is in the streets trying to find any survivors and hopes to find the one who did this. In one of the broken down apartment buildings, Strider Hiryu has arrived on the scene looking for the one behind the all this slaughter. He sees Raiden and, from the looks of his cyborg body, assumes he caused this. Hiryu: "Found you." He takes out his Falchon sword, telaports a few feet behind him and swings, but Raiden hears him. He back flips and there's a slow-motion shot along with "Blood-stained Strides" queuing. 0:00: After back flipping, Raiden grabs a banged up street lamp to swing himself back at Hiryu and kicking him down. Hiryu gets back up almost immediately as Raiden pulls out his Murasama. Raiden: "Hehehe. I guess I get my wish. Though honestly, I expected you to have more cybernetics." His visor covers his face and the two begin to duel. 0:13: their swords swing through the air as they try to break each other's guard and swords. (Imagination time everyone). 0:25: Hiryu appears to be faster then Raiden excepted, so he stuns him up close be leaving an EMP grenade under his feet when ducking under a sword swing. Hiryu is stunned, but was able to summon two option A bots that fire at Raiden and protect him long enough to recover. 0:39: Raiden takes out Dystopia and trys to pull himself to Hiryu, but Hiryu uses his magnetic Cypher to repeal it back and gets a few hits in. Raiden jumps onto the buildings and starts running on them while firing from a pistol at Hiryu. Hiryu uses his jump tech and climbing hook to keep up with him. 0:55: at this point, Hiryu losses Raiden. He looks for him but cannot find him. Hiryu: "Where have you gone?" Raiden jumps from behind with a rocket launcher. Raiden: "Right here." 1:06: Raiden shots Hiryu in the back with the rocket which explodes when it hits the ground. Hiryu telaports out of the explosions and summons option C bots to scratch at and drop bombs on Raiden. But with his incredible speed, Raiden takes them out in as little as 7 seconds. 1:18: Hiryu disarms Raiden, sending the Murasama into the air, but it doesn't go far because Raiden grabs it with his foot and slams it on Hiryu with enough force to send him down the weakened building. 1:33: Hiryu jumps out of the debris and sees a cardboard box in front of him. Hiryu: "Really?" He swings his Falchon sword at it. . . 1:42: and triggers the claymore mine inside it. Raiden jumps down from above to stab Hiryu, but Hiryu gets out of the way and summons multiple option B and C bots. 1:50: Hiryu: "Legion, ATTACK!" Hiryu sends all the bots at Raiden, but Raiden uses blade mode to slice them all into pieces. 1:58: after exiting blade mode, Raiden throws a frag grenade at Hiryu, who slices it in half with a charged slice from Falchon. This hit Raiden to, but he uses L'Etranger to spin himself back at Hiryu and swings multiple time with it while adding some bullets from his pistol into the mix. 2:07: Hiryu: "Time to end this." Hiryu upper kicks Raiden in the face, breaking his visor, and sending him in the air and follows it up with another technique. Hiryu: "Ragnarock!" Raiden gets hit all over his body before hitting the ground. But the sound heard by Hiryu wasn't the one he was expecting. It was maniacal laughing. Raiden: "Pain. . .this is why I fight." Raiden's body begins to steam red. Hiryu turns to face the still-standing cyborg ninja. Raiden: "Tell me, what time is it?" Hiryu: "Time to die?" Raiden: "Close. It's time for Jack the Ripper. . . 2:24: Raiden: "TO LET ER RIP!!!! Raiden has turned off his pain inhibitors, causing the pain inflicted by Hiryu to take over his senses, causing him to turn into his Jack the Ripper persona. Now, it's on. (Go nuts here.) 2:37: Raiden's increased speed and strength are overwhelming Hiryu, who just can't keep up. Hiryu: "How did you get this strong?" Raiden: "It's not that I'm stronger, it's only nature running its course. Out here, in battle, the strong prey upon the weak. It's survival of the fittest, the laws of the wild, THE RULES OF NATURE!" Raiden punctuates his line by stabbing Hiryu's hands with the knifes on the L'Etranger's hands to pin him against the wall of a skyscraper. When he trys to stab him, Hiryu telaports out of the way on top of the skyscraper and heals himself. Hiryu: "If that is so, then "nature" shall not claim me!" Hiryu starts fire balls of lightning, fire, and beams from his sword and other devices at Raiden, who avoids and blocks them as best as he can while running up the skyscraper. Raiden: "We'll see about that!" 3:03: Hiryu telaports out of the way as Raiden's Murasama comes down upon the skyscraper, cutting it in half. On the ground, Hiryu uses a device to cause an earthquake to catch Raiden off balance. He regains it with little difficulty and jumps off a piece of the falling skyscraper while putting the Murasama in its Sheth, charging it up. He looks down at Hiryu, who's also charging his Falchon and Jumping at him at the same time. This is it, one last strike. Both have put up an amazing fight, but only one can walk away alive. And in the end. . . . . .well that's up to you. Did you enjoy it? Next up, the winner of the very first death battle, Samus Arens, goes up against Megaman Zero in "Primed Hunters". Don't miss it.

Right before their blades clash, Hiryu teleports out of the way. Raiden looks in confusion, as he hears something behind him. He looks up to see Hiryu swing his sword, cutting Raiden in half (from top to bottom). Hiryu lands on the ground, exhausted from that fight.

Even if I must say I'm not *completely* aboard the matchhup, it isn't bad per say and has amazing animation potential so it's definitely respectable. However either way seeing Raiden get a matchup is great. As for the song itself ? Well it's pretty nice. It does sound pretty memorable and is a nice combination of both MGR's signature rock music but still has some more "retro" sounding bits such as 0:25-0:52 which definitely sounds like something from a classic Capcom game like Strider. So on that side both games feel like they get as much room to shine in the song. I'll be honest in that I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the almost dubstep bit at 1:45-2:08 because while it definitely sounds great ( special note for the violin bit at 1:52-1:54 that is extremely well placed) but it feels a tiny bit weird in a matchup such as this one. However I'm not complaining too much given, like I said, it's really good. A moment that for some reason stuck out to me would be 2:11-2:24 which I believe represents, in a short time, MGR's OST even better than the rest of the song due to its rock nature while being very memorable and of course sounding great. Another bit that sticks out for representing a franchise greatly would be 2:24-2:50 but this time with Strider's OST. The more electronic and "cliché-ish ninja" feel of this part absolutely fits Strider perfectly and, like before, it sounds amazing. I really like how both bits follow each other too. It's like at 2:11 Raiden gets the advantage and starts beating Hiryu but then at 2:24 Hiryu turns the tide and then starts having the upper hand against Raiden. Now that I think about it, this is something that happens in a few parts of the song too, even right at the beginning where 0:11-0:24 has MGR's rock being prominent to signal that Raiden would be the one to first engage the battle, which would make total sense but then right after we get 0:25-0:52 which fits Strider's OST better to show that Hiryu has the upper hand there. Reminds me quite heavily in a way of songs such as Boku no Kakugo which have a similar theme of the characters having a "fight" in the song too. As for the ending (3:17-3:44) well it's needless to say that it definitely is great as it combines both the rock parts of MGR and the more "retro" parts of Strider for a final clash between the two characters that'll ultimately leave one of them dead. I like to think that the abrupt ending at 3:44 is to show that the ending wouldn't be a slow or clearly predictable death but instead will be after one of the characters does a single mistake, causing the other one to take the advantage and promptly end the other's life, brutally ending the fight, similar to Snake VS Sam Fisher. Overall a really nice song that I'm appreciating more the more I listen to it that stands out quite a bit and fits both characters and their franchises absolutely greatly. Amazing job as always.

So is Hiryu actually. He ain't a Cyborg, however he's tech does help him reach those points. He even surfed a missile, have several cybernetic animals at his disposal, and he's over hundred years old (he doesn't age). Who wins? I dunno. But both can clearly go face-to-face no problem.

@@edgarlozada3858 Hiryu doesn't have immortality actually the Hiryu we see in Strider 2 is different from the one in Strider 1 and Strider 2014 is a whole reboot in a new universe. As it's confirmed in the official artbook, the Hiryu in Strider 2 is actually another Strider using the nickname Strider Hiryu meaning that no he didn't live for 2000 years and that his immortality was completely made up though something like that does kinda apply to the MVCI version of Hiryu but that's obviously not canon
