Possibly the vocal version that I've been awaiting for the most due to the fact that the original felt like it really was *made* for them even more so than other vocal tracks. And did it come out good ? I'd say it definitely did. The issue of the track feeling a bit bland are definitely resolved via the lyrical additions which help give a much better flow to the song and just a general more appreciable track by making it feel more "full". The segments that felt in the original like they needed vocals received vocals, the segments that felt like they needed more "backup" received background supporting vocals and the few segments that already were in no need for more support like the guitar solo received only minor additions which make the whole thing a great usage of vocal additions overal. I must also mention that I really like the whole dynamic that's heard between the duet in the song. It's really nice to have the song start with a "whispering" duet between both characters as they both introduce themselves prior to engaging the fight but of course unlike in other songs that follow a similar duet mechanic, here the battle starts right away with very little time for introductions. And hearing Bayonetta be the first and main character to engage in every "call and answer" segment of the song is also very in-character to me as, while Dante definitely has quite an imposing presence by himself, it's undeniable that it's much more fitting for Bayonetta to be the one to take the proactive stance in the battle (something that, if I recall, was also the case in the Death Battle episode too so that's a cool detail). Of course Dante still gets quite a few moments to shine, mainly because overall Dante's lyrics sound much more "violent" than Bayonetta's which I don't think I need to explain why but it's also because while Dante is generally less present in the track, the few segments where he gets the spotlight are much, *much* more notable than Bayonetta's. Notably the full segment at 2:50 which only features Dante with Bayonetta only having 2 lines at its end. This really showcases nicely both characters' personalities at once even if only one gets the spotlight during it: while Dante is a bit less imposing than Bayonetta overall, he's a much more violent and less graceful fighter and when he gets serious, he's got a habit of wrecking things *heavily* . That's not to say that Bayonetta doesn't do it too of course, proof being in that even if it's just 2 lines she still gets an answer at the end of Dante's verse and opens up the guitar solo which shows that she's definitely not intimidated by her opponent, but she's less known for her fits of violence when fighting than Dante is. So like I said this whole segment does a really nice job of covering Dante's more serious side but also personify Bayonetta really well. Overall like I said at the beginning this is one of the vocal tracks that I awaited the most and I definitely wasn't disappointed as it manages to work absolutely wonderfully and makes this track go up in my rankings a lot. The base version of Dance With The Devil wasn't bad, mind you, it just felt like it needed the vocals to truly shine and this proved it to be true as it excels in what it strives to do in addition to giving a really nice personification for both characters (so much so that I'm sure that my lack of knowledge for both characters resulted in me missing a lot of references, for which I apologize). Definitely one of the most major improvements done by a vocal version that's happened out of all the vocal commissions. Amazing work to everyone involved in the track for sure.
