I 2 shot awakened Vard w/ Hally Claws Bandos. My best advice is to use the corner and play with sounds ON, praying against the attacks are very easy if you understand what they sound like, range being a fire sound, mage being not a fire sound, that way u can souly concentrate on dodging axes which becomes very easy if you stand in a corner and reset on the inner most tile to dodge on everytime. It's barely a dps increase and alot of extra drain, I would imagine he didn't want his prayer to accidently drop as that would be death

With shadow specifically augury is a 1.5% DPS increase over mystic lore. It’s usually not worth the extra prayer.
