I’m the guy on the right. So honored that B&I analyzed this fight. I’ve only been doing HEMA for a year through B&I’s online program and started with zero knowledge. I’m so happy with my progress to date and I’m looking forward to getting better.

Can you let us know what you're using for gear? I'm curious about that body and shoulder protection.
@viersswordsmanshipjourney233 жыл бұрын
@@ryguyp I used a fencing jacket under motocross armor. Not as safe as a gambeson or a real jacket designed for HEMA, but it works. Just spar with people you trust if you wear something like this.

Thanks. What is the other person wearing? I'm wondering about those segmented shoulder guards.

Beautiful reflexes man!

@@ryguyp me and some colleagues developed our own armor amd handguards. This one is inspired by the Ursine Armor in Witcher 3 and is made of high density polyethylene sheets. Serves me well!

I'm the practitioner on the left and the one who did the feint in the second clip. The Blood and Iron online program really improved my personal practice, so I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn HEMA with a realistic-fighting approach in mind. :)

Is your club based in the Philippines (po)? If not or if so, where? Thank you 😊
@swordseeker89103 жыл бұрын
@@aeronsausse915 Yes it is! We are based in Manila, and prior to the pandemic we have a few branches where we train and hold classes. This time we are doing so in different locations particularly in Pasig and San Juan.

You did a great job starting to read your opponent which lead to the great feign :)

@@HEMASimian yup. He really got me there. 😂

@@HEMASimian thanks! This was my first spar after months of inactivity due to COVID, so I needed the rust hit out of me to get back on track. 😅

Great analysis and great swordsmanship on display! I find it fascinating that European martial arts are reaching so many audiences.

It's amazing! They so simply change moves and its seems so easy and unpredictable.

Nice analysis, very useful as a beginner and probably for more experienced people as well. :)

Hi. Can I train swordfighting alone? There is no hema(or any other) fencing school where I live. Are there any guides, tutorials... where I could learn the basics? Thanks

Great analysis. Interesting fighting style. I myself am more conservative in fencing, but these guys are not afraid to commit to attacks and its good fun to watch.

Dude on the right would have covered himself way better if he passed on the left oberhau to the arms Would have made it a more powerful cut too and better finishing position Still he got it done , just meant he had a more difficult parry with less margin for error
