I definitely hear the classic Death Metal sound they were going for! especially in the Mikael days the guitars, drums and vocals I fell in love with as well as early Cannibal Corpse/Six Feet Under, this track has that but more modernized! can't wait to hear the rest of the album!

I may be in the minority but I personally like Bloodbath more with Nick Holmes on vocals. No disrespect to Mikael or Peter because those albums are legendary but I especially love the last 2 albums, and it seems like it's gonna be 3 for 3 based off of these 2 singles.

it's the same for me, for me Nick gives a sickness to it that neither Peter or Mikael achieved, they are just amazing of course, but Nick it's like a more putrid voice that fits perfect with the essence of Bloodbath (sickness!)

I mostly agree with the OP. I think all 3 singers are/were badass in this bad. Mikael had such power, and Peter even more so IMO. Nick Holmes just brings a dark and dirty death metal sound to this band, and I have grown to love the last two albums with him. I love all the Bloodbath stuff, but Nick is pretty damn good and doesn't deserve the hate. \m/

@@Meshuggapeth why axe is out/hiatus? according to nick he couldn't go on with opeth because he didn't get a vax which was prohibiting touring last year. according to mikael they just kinda lost contact to axe over the pandemic and he wouldn't bother showing up/returning calls/messages. per told me that axe has been busy with his wife and their business, this also appeared in some news last year. so I reckon it's somewhat of a mix of all that. i suppose axe had recorded his drums for bloodbath by early 2021 or some like that. he missed in bloodbath shows before the pandemic because he was busy with opeth and now i suppose for the same reasons as above.

@@Meshuggapeth he does what he wants, he's an adult. and yes, it's a real bummer not to have him in opeth anymore although i really hope he comes back, at least to the XXX tour, as i've heard rather mixed reviews of sami so far and axe always was pure gold. hopefully he's still in bloodbath though and maybe only on live hiatus... per told me that axe & wife and mendez are preparing a followup release to their RES EP, so it's not the last of axe we'll hear i suppose
