Official GD nerd here. At the Speed of Light was first popularized within the community by Ggb0y, and their level Cataclysm, the first major "Impossible" level. A player named Riot was one of the first to beat the level legitimately, even verifying a later update of the level. He then hosted a collaborative effort to make the hardest level in the game at the time, Bloodbath, verifying it after multiple months of practice. That's how the song became so popular, being cited by some as the "GD National Anthem" lmao

@@nekoplayz1501 GD lore I would've never known before now. Thank you 😂. That's actually really cool though. I'm not super into GD stuff, but I know Bloodbath was considered the hardest level in the game (and I assume it still is?)

worded my original reply a little too harsh but i think uhhh they should work on figuring out what makes good levels good first before tackling a song like that... a lot of the notes aren't timed properly (i assume due to bpm mismatch) and the gameplay isn't balanced at all

I've never been much of a mapper and I agree that someone newer to mapping shouldn't jump into something really fast. I'm starting out with a decent speed (155 BPM), and it's not that bad to worry about. It's getting me really familiar with the editor

@@Nobel-1384 I completely breezed past the "bloodbath jumpscare" in the description of the level. I was quick to jump on that it was the song for Bloodbath though😂

Dang, i wish my pc wasnt broken. But it is what is! Would love to try this game out! As someone playing GD alot love to see this! Hopefully someone make a level using The Falling Mysts made by the same artist

That's really unfortunate, I hope you're able to get your pc resolved. There's a lot of cool maps people are making, I'm sure someone would get to mapping that. (I'm surprised Deepwoken and Phighting fans are even in this community too).

No but it's called At the Speed of Light and GD's community not giving the level names the song names shouldn't extend to other rhythm games. "But GD isn't a rhythm game" stfu it really doesn't change my argument here.
