I remember when I first got it. I played that game religiously almost every day for a solid week. Then on one of my run-throughs I died and lost 40,000 blood echoes. Sadly when I returned to the place that I lost them, I was killed again. I was so angry I stopped playing the game to give myself a mental break. After, I would go to play it again but couldn't bring myself to turn it on. I would always say "I'll just play it tomorrow" After a while I forgot about it entirely. That was 3 years ago. Two days ago I was going through my game collection and saw it there "Bloodborne" not even remembering why I stopped playing it. You can't imagine the feeling I got playing it again, starting my previous game with a fresh and relatively new mindset. Relearning everything that I had forgotten. I've made it pretty damn far into the game in these two days. I finally remembered today why I stopped playing it and thought I'd post a comment on how small my issue was because at this point in the game where I'm at 40,000 blood echoes are nothing at all.

@Américo Cruz If you can hit that build completely on point, hit your parries, and understand how to use the level to your advantage, you should be pretty gucci. I'd say it takes a good hour or two to run through it. If you do all that and be thorough about picking up items, you're looking at another hour at least. If you're having a tough time getting through bosses or areas, easily 5+ hours, especially including the final two bosses. If you're farming for good gems (which you should do directly after you beat Amelia and get the DLC "key") you're looking at a potentially infinite amount of time. Seriously, if you're on a lower level character and you can enter the DLC, farm the first few hunters you find. They drop real good gems. Though, even if you're not doing a ton of damage, you are going to definitely want health and decent armor for a runthrough. The enemies are seriously damaging and the environment can cause you issues if you're not careful. Overall, though, the DLC is probably two or three base game areas worth of content. It's quite a bit, and it's really good. If you haven't gone through it yet, try it out. I think you'll enjoy it.

When I first played Bloodborne it also had a weird effect of getting me through a hard time too. I think for me it was how the environment is so menacing and ominous, like a horror movie. But instead of being chased around and hiding from the scary things, you are a bad ass beast hunter. And yeah the menace is real, it's a hard game, but that makes you feel like even more of a bad ass when your skills improve and you finally overcome a struggle. As I got further into the game and was better, the levels could be scary, but I knew I could contend with the threats, which is definitely empowering. It's kind of hard to describe. The game makes you feel small, but also that you have agency, you are not helpless to the ultra-threatening environment.

I beat Bloodborne for the first time last week. I originally started with Dark Souls 3 and fell in love with that. I bought a PS4 on black friday in 2019 so I could play games like Bloodborne. I ended up buying Bloodborne but kept dying on Father Gascoigne so I gave up. I had that darksouls mindset "this isnt like dark souls 3 at all....why do I have to farm blood vials? why cant i backstab" etc I gave it another shot last week...months had passed so I decided to start new & created a new character. I finally killed Father Gascoigne. After that the game just unfolded in a beautiful way in front of my eyes -- I remember the exact moment where I turned left out of Oedon Chapel and saw one of those cane and lantern church dudes...I parried him on his first swing and a lightbulb went off. I FELT LIKE A GOD AMONGST MEN! Of course after that moment I fell in love with every single aspect of the game...it all just sort of clicked in the same way that Dark Souls 3 did. I felt so immersed traveling the streets of Yharnam...cautious but felt my confidence growing as I pressed on. You could and should be much more aggressive than dark souls...a hunter must hunt after all I now regard Bloodborne as my favorite game of all time....I've almost beat the game again on New Game Plus and just bought the DLC. My favorite slice of the game was Eileen the Crow....i remember meeting her and then randomly helping her later on against that gold hunter in the graveyard.....her heavy breathing/panting at the end & her sly compliment towards you...I loved that. Found her on accident later at the top of the steps by the grand cathedral....I was angry and thought "what kind of monster did this, I could have helped her....." Avenging her in the Grand Cathedral was one of the more intense fights in the game and felt so cathartic when I killed him....I remember running out to her like "I DID IT EILEEN I SAVED YOU" but then realized she would die....it hit me hard. It's crazy how much I cared about her after only a few times meeting her. It might be impossible to describe with words how the Bloodborne experience is to someone who's never tried it. It's probably the essence of why we watch these videos.... I pray that we get a Bloodborne 2 as there is truly nothing else like it

Not with bloodborne specifically but every time I play any RPG that doesn’t play like souls I just think to myself “it’s just not soulsborne” Talking mostly combat here. Examples: skyrim, Witcher 3 Examples for games that were better because combat was souls like: ac origins and odyssey, god of war

This was the only game that I didn't play in the "Souls" series until I recently got a PS4 this year; so, I already had some "souls" experience under my belt. And man, the game still feels current and relevant. I loved the atmosphere and the creepiness to it. The last boss was pretty tough until I figured him out. Overall, still a great game. The only thing I didn't like was the New Game Plus forcing, directly after you beat the game.
