Actually, current record for all bosses is about 1 hour 10 mins, WITH DLC even if he misses it by 20 mins, that's still only about an hour and a half. perfectly reasonable run. really no reason they can't do all bosses run at GDQ.

+Absolute Bloom All videos are uploaded at least twice. One during the event itself, and once afterwards once the fixed up versions are ready. Things that get improved can include: 1) Fixing technical issues if possible, such as the echoing audio on the uploads for several runs early in the event. 2) Uploading a higher resolution version of the video if the game feed was separately recorded. Many HD games had a higher resolution capture than what went out on the stream, so in some cases it's possible to upload a version where the game feed portion of the stream is full 1080p. Doing the overlays is very CPU intensive, so it can take a long time for these to finish. 3) Normalizing the audio track. Most runs will end up being louder. 4) Removing the takeover ads played during setup times. 5) Adding title cards, including run, category, runners, and an approximate time when the run starts. 6) Putting interviews with the run they belong with, as sometimes there was a schedule gap (the Super Mario Kart interview was done before Diddy Kong Racing, for example).

Igor Kim near the end of gdq they do a Super Metroid run. at the last part of that game you can either save or kill the animals. killing them ends up with a faster run. so during all of gdq there is a bid war whether or not the runner will save or kill

While escaping the exploding planet at the end of the game, you can make a detour to release some trapped animals. The reason it's contested is because saving the animals changes the ending, but only very slightly. It's hard to tell if it's "the true ending" or just an easter egg. The animals reappear in Metroid Fusion, so the canon ending is that the animals were saved.

There are three endings and this is the fastest. In the second ending we fight the guy with the scythe and when we kill him we win the game or if we found and consumed three of the four secret items called Third of Umbilical Cord we can fight another Nightmare monster thing similar to what was the final boss in this run

tl;dr old hunter is a guy who watches over the hunters while theyre in the dream, you have the option of fighting against him to become the new old hunter or letting him wake you from the dream. in order for you to wake up he has to kill you.

They run Super Metroid at these events and at the end of the game you can go out of your way to go and save a bunch of animals or you can just leave them and let them die. They just have a bidding war each marathon to determine which to do; killing them saves time and saving them "kills the run".

Yeah in gaming RNG is rarely used in its original meaning. Luck, where the program calculates a random occurence, is RNG. RNG isnt truly random though, but the algorithm is so complicated that it simulates randomness very well. In real life its nonsensical to speak of RNG because there is no Random Number Generator. Many situations in video games are so out of control of the player that they basically are random, but they are not RNG. People often still call it RNG. In card games (Hearthstone) which deck you play against is not RNG even though it is random. Not all random things in videogames are RNG. However today RNG is a synonym for randomness in video games.
