Hey everyone. Sorry again to have to do this, but I am again receiving a lot of comments on this video saying either that it is fake, or that I am cheating. If you think the video is fake, please see speedrun.com where you can clearly see that the run is verified by a moderator. If you choose not to do this, or if you just want to post a comment anyway saying the run is fake or that I cheated, I will remove the comment immediately. I will not argue with you or let you post multiple comments all over my video (pinging my phone each time) stating your (braindead) opinion that xyz thing should be considered a glitch. Creating multiple accounts to post the same comment will yield the same result. You can cry and complain on your own time, but you will be banned from posting comments here. Literally no one cares about your opinions, or your 5+ comments saying I'm a cheater or insulting the quality of my content. You are a weirdo. You are starving for attention. With that said, thank you to all of the normal people who watch the video and move on with their lives afterward! EDIT: 7/1/24: After some reflection, I've decided that I going forward, I won't be banning anyone for excessive comments anymore. Call it maturing, or whatever you want. I've just decided that I'm ignoring a portion of my fans by banning the people who dislike me. All you have to do is press the X button and it skips his dialogue..... that goes for any dialogue in the game. Can't sprint while he's talking so unless skipped, you have to slowly walk around. Which goes without saying is a waste of time.

It sometimes causes the wolf not to follow your character anytime you change a piece of armor or weapon. Same as other Souls games.

@topography It's a side effect of the game system. It can happen any time you change a piece of equipment whether you want it to or not. Because it can happen randomly any time, the community doesn't ban changing weapons and armor because that makes no sense, and we don't ban changing weapons and armor when you're near an enemy because you're constantly near enemies in this game. Just an unavoidable by-product of the game, so there's no reason we can't at least try to make it work in our favor. If it was 100% consistent in avoiding enemies, everyone would be running everywhere spamming a toggle on the equipment bar. What you don't see in a run like this that you do see in the failed attempts, is the many times you run by spamming, and this doesn't work, and the enemy punches you in the mouth and kills you lol. But the run is verified on speedrun.com and all of the rules were followed. Inevitably, some people will decide that this small allowance violates their personal view of what a glitch should be, which is all good, but that is at least, the explanation of why the moderators and the speedrun community don't reject runs for the purpose of just changing equipment. Bloodborne runs are actually quite strict in terms of "glitchless" rulesets vs a lot of other souls games, Dark Souls 3, for example, where you see stuff like fall damage canceling being allowed. No sleight on any of my Dark Souls 3 counterparts. I love watching their content, and I recommend other people check those runs out, too, if you haven't already.

@Papanug When you toggle a weapon and/or hold up shield/trick a weapon in these games, it allows you to continue sprinting without any stoppage during the cutscene, assuming you are holding O throughout. It's imperative to do this for certain fights or you won't make it to the correct spot in time to execute the strategies.

You either need to kill cleric beast to buy the key to open cathedral ward and progress the game, or kill Blood Starved Beast by running all the way to the bottom of Old Yharnam, which opens the door to upper cathedral ward. Running to BSB takes over a minute longer than killing Cleric Beast and skipping that entire area.

This is really cool but just a question, how come you don’t viseral attack when u stun the enemies? i saw you didn’t do it against gasgcoine or the shadows, is it to save time? Surely you’d kill them quicker if you did so no?

@ir_7862 Visceral attacking loses about 5 seconds each time and does significantly reduced damaged unless you have a build centered around visceral attacks at high level. Obviously we don't have a level 200 character for speedruns, so visceral attacks are one of the worst and slowest forms of damage available to us. For example, if I visceral Gascoigne after each backstab, I will do around 200 damage (roughly, I don't remember exactly what it is because speedrunners don't visceral bosses, because it's terrible) vs throwing a molly at him which does around 435 damage. Two times the amount of damage and throwing a molly takes 1/3 of the time to do vs the entire, pathetically slow, visceral animation.

Yes! You either need to kill BSB, or you can buy the key that opens the gate to Cathedral Ward that way. It costs 10k echoes, which is why we need the ones from Cleric Beast.

Is there a reason to switch the stance of your weapon than adding fire paper? Like for amelia you did it right before the boss but you switched right back to the normal stance. Is it some attack boost thing?

When you run through a cutscene trigger, if you do not trick your weapon, your character will stop sprinting completely and have to start again from walking. If you try to do the Amelia strat like this, you will be too slow to reach her, and she will punch you in the face at the start of the fight every time. Tricking the weapon allows you to carry the sprint through the cutscene trigger and reach her quickly enough to execute the opening combo.

Of course there are high tech strats and if they're to hard, I'll just do it my way. But yeah, this might be a bit of stretch from starting off with speedrunning. But if you have any recommendations to start speedrunning, it'd be appreciated.

@Godzilla545 There are only 5 runners who have completed runs on this route, and of the 5 who have, I took it a step further by skipping extra healing items. I completed this run using only a total of 10 blood vials throughout the run, which is suicidal given it only saved 1-2 seconds for each of the pickups I ignored. Each of the runners who completed early cleric route are elite, with several years of dedicated experience to the game to reach a level of proficiency to complete a run like this. It is not in any way even remotely good as a resource for new runners. You are much better off scrolling the leaderboard and finding a run that matches your skill level better than jumping into a run that involves suicide strats and feeling overwhelmed. There's no reason to be attempting early cleric or pelletless Amelia when there are safe scripted strats for bsb and Amelia with a beast blood pellet... With that said, this is only my opinion. If you still want to attempt a run using this routing, it is certainly your prerogative to do so. Best of luck to you.

Various reasons, some more 5Head than others. Killing a boss too quickly, running past an enemy that they themselves were unable to get by, using items, using In-Game Time rather than Real Time Attack (which is the rule for this game on speedrun.com, not even my rule) to time the run, etc. In the past, I was annoyed by almost daily remarks saying the run was illegitimate, spliced, etc., so I blocked many, many users. Mostly people who commented many times without me responding and people who I chatted with briefly, then they continued to blow my phone up with notifications after I stopped responding. This was my mistake, which is why I didn't delete my original thread and rather amended it. I failed to realize that these comments are actually from some of my biggest fans, who I was denying the opportunity to speak with me and interact, even if it is negative. Just because they don't understand the rules of the category, or claim that I'm a cheater ignorantly without any understanding of what they're talking about, that doesn't mean I shouldn't let them say their piece and feel good about themselves for telling me off lol. I can't respond to people infinitely, but I can mark comments so everyone knows that I'm seeing what they have to say to me, whether it's good or bad.

@@Philly.D If you don't kill cleric beast, you can't get 10k echoes to buy the key to get to Amelia in any kind of reasonably quick amount of time. If you don't go to Amelia, you can't complete this game. The only other option is to run to the bottom of Old Yharnam to fight BSB to open the other gate.......... A massive time loss.

You can't buy the key that leads to Amelia without 10k blood echoes. Without the echoes from Cleric, the only other options for getting to Amelia are killing random mobs that drop roughly 40-100 echoes each to make up the difference, or running all the way to the bottom of Old Yharnam and killing BSB, which opens another door that also leads to Amelia. It's fairly obvious that farming mobs and running to the bottom of Old Yharnam to fight BSB are both painfully slow. I killed Cleric Beast in about 30 seconds here.
