@:39 that scene is classic to me. Quality cafe is written on both windows. You have two officers but only one is having breakfast. Breakfast is written above Quality Cafe on only one window. Then when the scene plays you clearly see Alonzo is higher ranking and more experienced. I don't believe those windows are coincidence.

Alonzo set Jake up earlier by having him unwittingly participate in stealing drug money, but Jake refuses to go along with Alonzo's corruption and threatens to expose him. Alonzo realizes that Jake is a loose end who could jeopardize his plans, so he arranges for the Mexican gang members to kill him, hoping to eliminate the threat Jake poses while also continuing with his scheme to collect the money

@@deltahomicide9300 Maybe because alonzo's position as a high ranking officer gave him authority and influence , which probably intimidated the gang members into complice They knew crossing him could lead to severe repercussions.
