One of my favorite movies- Kickboxer is a fun movie as well! When I say Kickboxer I mean the old version the 1988 version. The remakes were sort of good but never held up to the original the OG version

The sneaky guy with the odd stance, Paco.. Is actually Paulo Tocha. He practices Krav Manga. Look it up. Its the most useful style in a real world street fight. Basic Krav Manga techniques are taught in law enforcement, military, personal security, and self defense classes. The 'my hands are up - dont hurt me' stance is what is so useful. It appears that you are complying and not a threat, in reality you are ready to strike with lightning fast efficiency. Paulo is basically playing himself in this movie.

The splits nut punch you may see replicated by Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat, a character inspired and based off of Jean Claude Van Dam.

If you were born in the late 70's to early 80's, this movie was every fighting film lovers favorite. I watched my VHS about 150 times. The soundtrack is also one of the absolute greats!

This movie was one of the major influences on Mortal Kombat. JCVD was supposed to be in the game but decided against it. Johnny Cage was created as a stand in for Van Damme.

80s action movies are always great to rewatch. The best van Damme movies are from the late 90's and early 90's Kickboxer is defenitly on the top of the list other great ones are Universal Soldier Timecop Death Warrent Sudden death Lionheart And all of them are better than streetfighter.

The first time I watched this movie I was over my Grandmother's house and I was with one of my brothers and we watched it in my Grandmother's room me and Joshua were parenting to fight each other in the kitchen 😅my grandmother was furious 😅😅miss the old times

the tournament was an underground thing, so there was no illegal stuff during the fights also, check out The Quest from 1996, it's another cool tournament movie with van damme

When Bolo says "very good, but brick not hit back", it's a reference to Bruce Lee movie Enter the Dragon in which Bruce uses a similar line about boards. Bolo was also in that movie.

There's pro wrestling events called Bloodsport modeled after the movie. It's all fixed but they try to bring in different styles. Fun gimmick. Your reaction was great.

@@AlcyoneReacts Well i just watched the final fight again and i gives me the impression its someone tooting an air horn in the crowd i guess to give it some sort of sporting event feel. Maybe its a thing hidden in the sound that i missed idk but its just a air horn IMO. Doesn't make any logical sense for it to be a cat lol.

watched this movie so many times as a kid! it's great fun but is almost certainly not a true story. frank dux is a real guy and widely considered to be a professional fibber. kowloon walled city in hong kong was a real place though. it was demolished back in the 1990s. 👍

If you thought Bloodsport was badass, you should watch another JCVD classic called “Kickboxer”. It came out the year after Bloodsport. The guy who gets his leg destroyed in Bloodsport is the main villain in Kickboxer. He also was one of JCVD’s best friends growing up.
