If you want to avoid expensive shipping due to us living in Australia, here is a little work around on Amazon (can do the same on ebay using www.ebay.com.au) which some people have used and made it a lot more affordable. We just wanted to share this with those who this may concern.
1. Go to top right of Amazon homepage where it has your country flag and language showing
2. Click change country/region on dropdown menu
3. Change country to Australia
4. Amazon page will change all products to those in Australian warehouses. Put items in cart, send to S&P PO box address as you normally would. Should be minimal shipping because its shipping from within Australia

@tarikhamou6222 Ай бұрын
@@fakecubed Actually I believe this is part of why the writers had so much freedom writing, they didn't care much about the ride itself, they just wanted to tell the best pirates story they could ever come up with and the entire crew had a ton of fun bringing it all to life. Truly a great example of what total creative freedom looks like on screen and why current Disney live-action movies aren't as successful nowadays: they became narratively restricted.
@fakecubed
@fakecubed Ай бұрын
@@tarikhamou6222 Agreed. Narratively restricted, and also over-managed. A modern Disney film, they don’t hire a director to carry out his vision, they cast a director, based on intrinsic demographic features to check off some DEI/ESG boxes, then the studio has a bunch of other people in the Disney machine do all the work while the director is practically irrelevant. Somebody else handles all the action scenes. Somebody else handles all the special effects designs, somebody else handles all the costumes and sets and whatever else. In the end, the director is basically just there to yell “action” (when they’re told to) for a portion of the filming, and then they’re shuffled off while the Disney machine does all the post-production and reshoots. Meanwhile the script isn’t finished, that happens after editing, reshoots, and re-editing.

An interesting theory I read before (don't remember the guy who wrote it) mentioned that the reason why Jack Sparrow moves the way he does is because he has "Permanent Sea Footwork", this means that he walks perfectly on a boat, and waves/unbalancing does NOT affect him, which makes him a very difficult enemy to beat at sea, but the side-effect of this sea-footwork is that whenever he is on land, the lack of "unbalanced wavy ground" makes him feel uncomfort and his feet end up not landing well, which makes him walk in a drunken-like way. To confirm this, you can compare how Jack moves magnanimously when he is sailing on a ship, while his movements become wiggly whenever he is on land in the films. Cheers!!

@@jewel79 No, I believe what was reported directly by the producers and crew of Pirates 5 and brought up directly in the trial. Depp would show up to set consistently hours late and was often heavily inebriated, leading to him having to be fed his lines through an earpiece hidden under the dreadlocks. You can tell just by listening to him in the movie. Do you really think Disney would have fired him from a leading role like that without serious reason to do so? Also, please understand that I am not an Amber Heard defender. She is clearly a terrible person who made Depp's life absolutely miserable. But I watched that trial and the evidence introduced by Heard's team shows that Depp is just as much of an abusive train wreck as she is. Depp is just much better at playing the crowd and won big time in the court of public opinion.

Some people look at it as a triology because 4 and 5 are not as good as 1-3 and Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley are not in them and, while they're definitely missed, I still feel like Jack is the MAIN main character. It may be an unpopular opinion but I personally enjoy both so I always tell people to watch them and decide for themselves. People can just skip those reactions. Fun facts: The films are based on Walt Disney's ride of the same name. There is an after credits scene in all of the films, though not all of them are that important to the story. The role of Captain Jack Sparrow was originally written for Hugh Jackman but he was not that well known outside of Australia at the time so Disney cast Johnny Depp instead, who was more known. Johnny Depp based the character on Keith Richards from The Rolling Stones (who appears in the third film). Depp also improvised Jack's catch phrase "Savvy?" and "Bring me that horizon". Jack's “drunk walk” is actually the result of his "sea legs". When he's on land his walk is unbalanced, while at sea he walks straight. That is because he spends more time at sea than on land. If you haven't seen them, other Johnny Depp films I recommend are A Nightmare on Elm Street (his first film), Cry Baby, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Sleepy Hollow, Chocolat, Finding Neverland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd and Alice in Wonderland. Speaking of Edward Scissorhands, it reminds me of she-who-must-not-be-named's comment in an interview after the trial that "he made everyone believe he had scissors for fingers" 🤣

Very complex characters, a mix of historical and fictional pirates from the golden age of piracy in the Caribbean, as they plot and scheme to deal with the possible impending crackdown from either Spain or England, and one captain risks everything in the hopes of winning a prize so large that would upset the very nature of their world. It's not a well known show, it was on a fairly obscure premium cable channel back when it first aired. So not a lot of people know about it. But it's one of the best series I've ever watched. High stakes drama, plenty of humor, some awesome pirate action, but also a lot of serious dialogue between incredible actors. It's a show that got me to read philosophy again, and become a lot more knowledgeable about the early 1700s.

The first three: Black Pearl, Dead Man’s Chest and At Worlds End are great. I liked 4 but it was subjective, Dead Men Tell No Tales(5), is highly underrated and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also a logical conclusion to the franchise. I recommend it!

Idk if anyone's mentioned it already, but have you guys noticed that when Jack walks on land he often staggers as if he's drunk (sometimes he is). But on a ship his gait is completely normal Barbosa's first and final feeling of coldness upon being free of the curse is one of the coldest endings to a villain's arc I've seen

I agree. Most movies these days don’t have the heart that was put into living like this. It’s really sad. I wish they would make movies like this again. A passionate, well casted cast. GOOD writing. Scenes with cool directing and choreography. Movies just don’t compare anymore.

Elizabeth's father and the Commodore are not bad people. Her father is a little bit doofy and silly, but he means well. The commodore is very uppity and rule bound, but he is also an honorable man and completely level headed. Not at all the sort of villain we're used to seeing in just about any movie

This movie is so fun because it is masterfully paced and utilizes every sceen to its fullest potential, but also because of it's perfect usage of setup and payoff. It is doubly satisfying to see Will throw the sword that sets Jack free when you remember the other sword he threw at him was intended to get him arrested. Even the return of the pirate song, twice!

For Bootstrap Bill, he was also cursed, so when he was sunk to the bottom of the ocean, he didn't die in the 2 or 3 minutes that you or I would, but stayed in a constant state of drowning for over 8 years until the curse was lifted.

21:59 No, that's the great thing about Norrington, he _doesn't_ only want Elizabeth for her status or her beauty. He genuinely cares about her. That's what I like about him and Governor Swann - they value her happiness above their own. 43:32 He can't be dead, he's cursed like them. He wouldn't have died until the curse was lifted at the end of the movie. He spent a decade at the bottom of the ocean, unable to die.

This is one of very few films that I consider literally perfect. The acting, the stunts, the costumes, the writing, the music, the CGI, the practical effects, the stunt choreography, the makeup, etc. The fun of it! It’s simply a perfect film. Also, written by the same people that wrote Aladdin 😉 The first three (the OG trilogy) are the best in my opinion. But honestly the others still have Johnny & are highly entertaining as well. I suggest them all for a good time!

You should watch the ENTIRE series. It's good entertainment and great material for a reaction channel. A couple of them are a bit lengthy (part 3 especially) but that might give you enough material to make two episodes (like you did with LOTR and The Hobbit series). Anyway, looking forward to it.

I read somewhere that as they were filming, they originally had Will as the main character and him and elizabeths love story be the main plot. But everyone on set fell in love with Jack Sparrow so much that they turned him into the main character. It's why the very first scene is with will and Elizabeth on the ship

Jack Sparrow's trick of using an inverted dingy to walk under water while breathing the air trapped in the hull I first saw in the movie "The Crimson Pirate" (1952) starring Burt Lancaster. Prior to WWII, Burt Lancaster was a "flyer" in the circus, i.e., trapeze, high wire, etc. After the war he went into acting & did all of his own stunts. Check out his many movies as he was the action star of the 50's. All kinds of "swashbuckler" movies!
