The last level of Nightmare mode was great. It makes me wish they made all new levels for them but, yeah budget game. Still the part where you descend the staircase to Zangetsu that's awesome. It's the reverse of Castlevania.

jRPGFanatic In Ritual of the Night Zangetsu is a rival (maybe good ot bad) and Gebel is the antagonist. So, I think that this game is an introduction where all character don't know about the reality of the others. Maybe in ROTN we'll get an answer.

The ending at 6:50 is obtainable with any combination of allies. You just need to recruit one or two, but not all, and Gebel can be one of them. Whether you kill or ignore the one or two that you don't recruit doesn't matter either.

thank you for your effort in compiling all the endings, it was a great video =D For the ones asking about the game canon ending, I strongly believe that is the last ending in this video, the one with the word "fin", because a couple of reasons. In her entry in the Ars Goetia it says than Gremory "He tells all things past, present and future, about hidden treasures, and procures the love of women, young and old, but especially maidens", this is depicted in game as the curse of the moon, also, in that ending, zangetsu realized that gremory created that world using the curse of the moon. So the kickstarter update saying that this game is a spinoff is true but could also work as a prequel. Maybe zangetsu retained his memories of this world, but well, thats just a theory... a game theory :3

I think the last shown ending is canon since in ritual of the night, Miriam has amnesia (from blocking gremory’s orb) and gebel is evil as a result of letting the darkness consume him as seen in zangetsu’s normal ending.

It didn't occur to me until now, but Zangetsu charging at the end looks very similar to Megaman's X-Buster charging animation. I also read on bloodstain reddit that you can charge Zangetsu's attack by holding down the attack button. This can only be done in Ultimate. I haven't verified it yet though so I don't know anything about it. I think that's about as close to Megaman as we get lol

Nightmare's End can be considered the most "canon" ending, since it's revealed to be nothing more than the creation of the final boss to mess with Zangetsu, so it has no impact on RotN.

Not exactly the canon ending is the one in Nightmare mode (Zangetsu goes to the future). Iga said that this game is a spin off, is not related to Ritual of the Night. It was meant to be a prequel, but that was scraped. Is just an alternate reality.

I feel like the best competition against Nightmare’s End for Most Canon Ending would be Blade Gleaming at Sunrise, given that Miriam’s search for new purpose and Alfred’s quest for new knowledge have the potential to lead into their roles in RotN. Gebel’s role in RotN might be a plausible result after the events of this ending, but only if you have to ignore him to get this ending.

Each of the four protagonists in Bloodstained are similar/reminds me of characters from the Castlevania series: Zangetsu (Soma Cruz), Miriam (Shanoa), Alfred (Rinaldo Gandolfi) and Gebel (Alucard)

They all feel to me like the four characters in Castlevania 3 - Zangetsu is Grant with the short-range weapon, Miriam is Trevor (basically the honorary Belmont of the group), Alfred is Sypha with his alchemy similar to Sypha's magic, and Gebel is Alucard, right down to the bat transformation.

There're basically five endings. One for recruiting everyone, one for leaving everyone, one for killing everyone, one for not doing the same thing to everyone (though that one must be gotten at least twice to get the full story of it, since you have to leave or kill at least one character) and one for Nightmare Mode.

@@91Coolepinguin Spoiler. Gebel is not the final boss but rather the Richter of this game. Beating him normally gives you a bad ending (much more advert than SotN. Even gives you an auto game over after the ending.) and you need to do something with a special weapon somewhere in the fight to continue the game.

gamewizord You really only have to play through the game 2 times, once on regular and then on Nightmare, to get the true ending. The other endings are just for people who want the extra modes or want to play through it a few more times. Youre not required to do the extra endings.

I don't know what the fuck was the storytellers of Bloodstained Curse of the Moon 2 were thinking. As Somecallmejohnny pointed out, he's not sure what ending the sequel follows up on as the sequel takes place not too long ago after the Demon Castle of the first game crumbled with everyone apparently surviving. There isn't a single ending in the first game where all four protagonist come off unscathed. Either Zangetsu dies or the friends do or one of the friends do. Second game in this Curse of the Moon continuity(Different from Ritual of the Night) and they're already alternating the continuity. We thought for sure that the sequel was gonna follow up on Zangetsu in the future in Nightmare Mode Ending of the first game, BUT NO! The storytellers are making stupid continuity just to have all characters playable gameplay-wise. It's almost as bad as Mega Man X6-X8(3 of my most hated Mega Man games I've ever seen & played). What the storytellers did DOES NOT MAKE ANY FUCKING SENSE! There's a reason why I rather just skip the story just for the sake of gameplay despite being much harder than the first game especially the infamous Legend Difficulty. Besides, the story of Bloodstained ain't compared to Castlevania original timeline.

there's only 1 ending that makes sense, the solo ending (BUT you ignore all Allies), since it makes the most sense with what we've seen of Ritual of the night. Yes Ritual of the moon is a non-cannon spinoff of Curse of the moon (It's the other way around but until Ritual of the moon gets a sequel and becomes the beginning of the series I will call it a spinoff), but I dislike that,

My guess is that either the Nightmare or Alternate 1 endings are canon, Curse of the Moon is likely an prequel to Ritual of the Night so in the end of Ritual either Gebel or Zangestu will be the final bosses of the upcoming game.

On those three things... First, I don't play games to see nudes or boobs, I play them because they're good, if censorhip is needed for it to get to a broader audience fine, I'd rather have a good censored game than crap uncensored game (See: Agony). Second, they never broke that promise, from the very beginning it was understood that the backer content would be avaiable for everyone, just after a certain ammount of time. Third, who cares if this isn't a prequel? The game is fun, well designed! If this is even remotely close to how the final product will be then I am more than satisfied, and they were HONEST about it.

Wait, what are the different requirements for the true and solo endings? They seem to be the same unless the solo ending is obtained by killing a few partners and ignoring a few partners, recruiting none of them and not either killing or ignoring all of them, with the True Ending being obtained by ignoring everyone. That's my guess at least, as I know you get the Bad Ending by killing everyone, which unlocks Ultimate Mode. (The best mode as you get all of Zangetsu soul abillities from the start without having to kill anyone.)

I kill all the allies and I get the bad ending. Ignore all allies gets you the Alt ending 2. So how do I get the "Solo" ending then? Actually, it looks like you killed two allies and ignored the third. My fave ending is Ultimate(or Normal) with Mirium recruited, and the others ignored. That is Alt Ending 1.

It's a combination of both, kill 2 and ignore 1 or ignore 2 and kill 1 for the solo ending. My favorite by far is the nightmare ending, reminds me of lords of shadow 1 ending when dracula is now in the modern world, in this case Zangetsu ended in the Gunvolt universe. Hoping inti creates adds Sangetsu as a playable character there.

Haha, I was literally just reading your post on reddit. Yeah, there are different permutations for that ending depending on what character you have (Miriam/Alfred, Miriam/Gelad, Alfred/Gelad). For my version of that ending I had Miriam/Alfred so it mentioned what Miriam and Alfred did afterwards but didn't mention Gelad. The text for that small part will change if you have different characters on your playthrough. I should have went back and did Gelad + someone else to see what happened with Gelad but I really didn't want to beat the game for the 10th time lol. Edit: That ending also overlaps what I labeled as the solo ending. The text that appears just depends on the characters that are in your party.

I got the first two endings so far. What is the difference in the conditions between the Solo Ending and the Alternate Ending 2? You have to ignore everyone and do something more? EDIT: Nevermind, I did a little research. Both endings require that you don't recruit anyone, but it seems that you have and to kill at least one but not the three of them to get the Alternate Ending 2, and spare the three of them to get the Solo Ending. If I'm wrong please someone correct me.

Yes, you can do any combination of kill and ignore as long as you cover both.

yeah. It'll not have the text about what Miriam and Alfred did after the game's ending and will instead say when Gebel did after the game's ending.

yea, that ending in itself is just when you half-ass the game by not killing or recruiting all allies and displays a paragraph to explain what the recruited members did and then zangetsu's. I beat the game with Miriam alone recruited and it said the same thing so Gebel should have one too.

Yes, he just won't be in the ending and it'll show which ever characters you do decide to recruit.

It's the same ending but alternate will have at most 2 other characters which will tell you what happened to them after Curse of the Moon has ended. Solo ending is just Alternate Ending without any allies.

___USER___ Sorry I misread your comment. For alternate 2 (the ending where zangetsu gets saved by his allies) you have to ignore all allies. I meant to say solo and alternate are the same endings. For solo ending you have to kill and ignore at least one ally.

This took me a while to figure out as well. In the Solo ending you need to kill at least 1 ally and ignore at least 1 ally. The 3rd ally can either be killed or ignored.

According to IGA said,no allies got killed is canon ending. www.4gamer.net/games/515/G051587/20200626119/ It seems Fallen Moon's Requiem made more sense expect the Gunvolt scene.😆 Dominique could revive people.Maybe she revives Zangetsu after Fallen Moon's Requiem Ending.

@@jam1531 I feel like Alt 2 (ignore all, kill none) makes the most sense anyway because the line about this whole world being created by Gremory and shown only to Zangetsu could allude to the fact that this game takes place within Zangetsu's subconscious, and the sacrifice of the three he left behind began to change something within him, which could lead to his gradual acceptance of the others in RotN (after he awakens from the CotM world) for those who really want to connect the two games.
