My first one was BR2 for ps1. Good memories with that one. The supers were already cinematic in that game, which was impressive for ps1. They were much better looking than the supers of other early 3d fgs like SF EX and Rival Schools.

I see most characters only spend a few beast meter after special, but Ryoho depleted all of their beast meter for more or less same or lower damage than the other. Is there any advantage on their special? I kind of dislike the beast meter system here, I still prefer the BR2 one. Though not sure if this one is more balanced or not.

Cause Ryoho isn't a character that you used for the Special. His normal attack is devastating enough as a Beast and have a very wide range. Hence they balancing out with how much Beast meter depleted for him after special. Also IDK if you know about this or not, but the way BR 4th having the HP and Beast HP is unique. If you holding a beast transformation button until your HP is depleted and changed into Beast HP, you would gain Super Mode. In this mode all characters will gain super strength and speed. But you need to do it yourself, if you got attack on Human form and your HP is gone, and you transformed into Beast cause your Beast HP is still there, you wouldn't gain the Super Form. You need to depleted your own HP not because damaged from enemies.

I only played BR4 for a while as a kid on my friend's PS2, so yeah, these info are new to me. I see, so there's something like high risk high reward system in BR4 beast meter. Do you think this meter system is better gameplay-wise than BR2?

@@schokoladereee imo it makes the game more interesting. Like you can actually goes to Super Mode right off the bat. And usually after using special you would back to human form and your Beast HP depleted. In Super Mode, you can actually use special without any demerit, you can actually spam it, of course cause you don't have any Human HP any damage done to you would fatal. Cause if you have human HP, any damage done in Beast mode would only damage your Beast HP, and Beast HP can be gained by using Human form and attacking enemies, so with a proper strategy, you can have almost Infinite health alternating on Human and Beast mode. This is why also Ryoho super mode makes him on Human form instead the beast one, otherwise it wouldn't be fair.

That's interesting Ah yeah, that's remind me that sometimes on dragon ryoho boss fight, he uses special quite early that depletes his beast meter, and leaves me to hit him once to win the fight, if I manage to dodge the special
