Being "tough on crime" is easy, dealing with the drivers of crime is tough

The Government wants us to believe it’s tough on crime with increased punitive responses to crime, but the really tough way to tackle crime is to deal with the drivers of criminal behaviour. Which is the opposite of what the government is doing.

"Tough on crime" means nothing. It just sounds good and is easy to say. And conservatives love to hear it. Almog with Màori bashing its been National party election "policy" since forever
