@@BeyondMagical more accurately this is a loose adaptation of the Winx Club. If this were a regular adaptation, they wouldn't have changed so much of it. This isn't a spin-off too in my opinion, considering a spin-off usually still follows the main series but told in a different perspective like if a series was made of the Winx Club but in Stella's pov or in a different setting but still tied to the main series like, as you mentioned, the World of Winx. Original comment was right, they should have just made a new show not related to the Winx Club. It would have had more freedom in terms of plot progression without the general public having to judge it prematurely because they can't help but compare it to the material that it was adapted from.

meh, the universe don't feel really like another world, the "fairies" don't have wings, use our phones, our socials network, our drugs, our fashion, our animals... they even have fucking normal cars! To me, the show is happening on earth, not in another world, they don't have anything that make them apart even though the two worlds are supposed to be apart. And outside of the fairies shooting their powers from time to time, i don't see magic anywhere. The plot is not bad but for something with the budget of netflix, i hoped for way more cgi and special effect.

I loved that because it did present the magical dimension as his own thing that have evolved apart from earth. It was different and beautiful. Not to mention the two worlds were said to not have any contact since a long time.

Agree. I love the original animated Winx Club version & I love the Fate live action one as well. Yes they have obvious differences but that is what adaptions are. Also, people are judging too harshly for a 6 episode 1st season. They will obviously learn to transform & get all their wings, may get outfits too in the future who knows. I think the reason why it has only 6 episodes due to budgeting concerns, there's a lot of visual effects used here, compared to Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. and also they might be testing the waters, if this will become a HIT, and yes it DID. it went #1 in more than 10 countries, and the biggest show "SO FAR" of 2021 in terms of audience viewership. so probably we'll get the normal Netflix 10-11 episodes in the upcoming seasons.

Based on the stuff I've seen so far, I actually like it. I don't want them to just remake the original. If I want to watch Winx Club, I'd go watch that. I really appreciate the new take they have on it. They're turning it into something new, which I love. I don't remember much about Bloom from the cartoon, but what I do remember just makes her feel kinda bland? Is that just me? She feels like more of a character here. She's got flaws that she needs to work on besides just "getting stronger" or something like that. Also, I actually prefer these outfits over the sparkly, colourful ones from the cartoon? The "magical girl" transformation is usually really cringe in live action (trust me), that's why i think it was a good idea to remove it. @@sieeeeeeen i mean yeah of course they have some changes from the animation. if the adapted ver literally follows the animate ver, wouldnt it be boring bcs we already know the plot and how they ended up? and tbh, characters like terra and aisha are very relatable, i just like how the writers include them. love this show

There’s still more episodes to come, I know that. But for now, from what i see, the flaw with this show is that they portray bloom as this terrifying and potentially evil girl if this power ever reaches its peak. I personally think that’s their way of making her seem « cool » or « badass ». But they ultimately took away the substance of her character. What makes her a « badass », along with her friends, is her love for her family, for her friends and the will to risk her life to save them. That’s what makes her powerful. Not just some darkness that lurks inside her...bruh it’s actually cringey the way they make her appear as another version of a Twilight vampire.

The flame effects remind me of the old Power Rangers tv series that used to air. This did NOT have the budget to make the kind of show they were going for. In fact, they'd have done better taking the "Winx" name out of it altogether and just making it into it's own original show. The characters and stories are different enough that it could stand alone. The IDEA of it sounds interesting....like a CW version of _Harry Potter in Fairyland._ Bloom here almost has this dual "Jean Grey/Phoenix Force" type relationship with her flame...which I'm afraid CW would turn into a "Killer Frost/Caitlin Snow" type thing. Now that I think of it, this reminds me of the CW series, _Legacies._

This is literally another example of an adaptation. Having said that, it might be a budget issue with CGI. And since the show seems to be successful, hopefully season 2's better!

I did grow up watching the cartoon this feels like a different show that has the title Winx Club slapped on. And the major part of the show is missing. The magical element, but that maybe lies with how much money they had to work with and maybe in season 2 we can get more out of it, but I see the problem. Trying to remake a kid's cartoon into an adult version is very off-putting. We, the kids who grew up watching these shows, want to see the live-action perspective of it, we wanted to see how things would play out with what we have now in technology, the effects. and all of that. We want to re-live that part of our childhood and possibly watch it with our own kids one day. Also, though the effects are kind of cool, It's more like the MC's magic powers was re-placed with elemental forms of telekinesis, with the way their powers are written cause I don't really see the magical aspect. It's like they're highly advanced in their powers and should be hard to control that includes the headaches, the blood from nose and eyes no matter how advanced you are in this and the many limitations via Bloom can only control fire and with the way she creates it is high enough for her to just learn she has powers in the beginning. if this show was like the cartoon then it would be easier cause they all grew up in a magical world and could control their powers, but Bloom would still have to learn to control her's more cause she's from earth. I might be wrong, so correct me if I am, but that's what I'm getting most from it cause the show possibly had a low budget to work with. If this show didn't have the Winx Club name on it, then it would've worked as a show about a girl learning she has powers and how to control them so she doesn't extra crispy her classroom by accident, but there's a thriller mystery to it as well.
