looking back hindsight to what he said 9 years ago and its mind boggling how accurate he was at forecasting the real estate market. Even now that we are a second coronavirus induced recession, the housing market is booming along and there is a big inventory shortage.

Warren Buffet has a lot of experience on multiple recessions in the US market. Recessions are just a normal part of the economic cycle, it was easy for him to say the economy will come back. Because of course, sooner or later it definitely will

Just had a conversation with someone about the president getting too much blame and too much credit. Funny that he says the same here about government. Let’s all remember WE run and we drive this economy, not the government.

Our credit is good because we can print money. wtf is that, he speaks in riddles but that is fairly clearly rubbish or Zimbabwe would be doing awesome. The buyer of the debt the bonds or the money even are who decide if usa credit is good, nothing to do with printing

I know your comment is old but ill reply anyway just in case somebody else is confused. If the debt is denominated in your own currency, you can effectively pay off the debt by printing out money to pay for it. This has the negative effect of causing inflation in the economy which will most likely be worse than the debt payments you were paying originally. Hence why, Zimbabwe is not doing 'awesome' because it is suffering from such large inflation amongst other terrible things.

You can up the fiscal deficit in the United States because exports are strong. In Africa there is a huge trade deficit and there are more imports than exports

@@sherlockholmes6768 USA and many other western countries have a trade deficit, far too many imports to balance it out. The big advantage with the dollar is its held as a central bank asset by most of the world so the currency is valued higher then it would be otherwise. The problem with the debt it is bound to unwind, it will be a mess. Germany has trade surplus, presumably it matters at some point.
