Yes but Apple sees tariffs not just as something that they can escape but something for their advantage - they can potentially negotiate tariff exemptions while their competition is stuck with dealing with tariffs and suffers as a result. It's not about maintaining the position they have at the moment, but gaining an even bigger share of the pie. In other words - Apple wants tariffs.
