To me, the relationship with Bloomer and Thomas is like an uncle and his nephew Bloomer being the wise, but cocky uncle and Thomas being the young and fiesty nephew

What an interesting stories. Bloomer looks like a great engine, an early design of the Sterling Singles. Thomas really was jealous of him and Mavis certainly got to have her own adventures too :).

I found out Bloomer's class were built for Expresses on the LNWR. I have a feeling Bloomer would have acted like Gordon in his younger days on expresses

didn't Bloomer use coke when he was a young engine? engines burnt coke to try and control their coal smoke until the mid 1850s I believe
