The 151 UPC was available for $90 at costco for like a month or more. I'm not sure what happend to 151. It was easily available for so long below msrp and then all of a sudden more people decided they wanted it. The youtube hype train is sort of crazy with pokemon cards. It's great if cards are available but when distributors have almost nothing then something is wrong.

what happened was the perfect storm: 151 turning a year old and not being stocked as much, tcg pocket coming out, and prismatic hype abt being "the next evo skies" brought a lot of new eyes on the hobby all at once. the next few sets being confirmed trainer and rocket sets too. prepare for a shitshow of covid proportions....

Repacking packs this way brings out everyone’s wallet, even the people who had the previous products because they need this in their sealed collections. Also Costco/Sam Club exposure is huge for Pokemon so they need to give them their own exclusive line of products. Pokemon has figured out a way to put a different colored cap on their pills when it comes to reupping. Helping out the investors pockets is a byproduct, it helps, but it’s not their main intention.

The MSRP of this box is wild. $60 in the US, £80 ($100) in the UK and €120 ($125) in the EU. People in Europe are getting well and truly screwed over by the Pokémon Company the last few months.

Zero 151 restocks (closest they came was a tiny allocation for the UK), hardly any Surging Sparks products compared to previous sets, Prismatic Evolution's allocations at disgracefully low amounts (stores getting roughly 1-5% of what they had ordered) and now most stores getting less than 2 cases of Blooming Waters with the MSRP twice as high as the US.

Typically Costco in Canada doesn't get these (Blooming Waters) and we don't have Sam's club.. If by some miracle Walmart gets them they will be about 1.5 times MSRP. Hopefully this will flood the market and drop the prices of 151 long enough for me to complete my set!

Its a normal distribution item so everyone is getting them. I bought them last month from BestBuy here in the US with no limits and pre orders sold out in about a minute. Gamestop has listings up. Sadly prices wont change at all if anything all the extra rushed hype will raise them.

Wrap this around your head. I bought a case of 4 of the 151 ultra premium collections from the Pokemon center for $500. I also got 4 free Pokemon center stamped squirtle cards with purchase.The promo cards are now worth $115 each. That means that I only paid a total of $10 for each 151 box, a total of $40 if you subtract the promos. That also means my total net gain is 240x4= 960, then take 960-$40= $920. I dare someone to try and beat that.
