Our local Costco did it right, put a limit, handed out tickets. Manager warned “anyone who runs will get zero and is kicked out”…… drive 30 miles to Seattle, all hell broke loose, no rules, damn free for all. CRAZY!!!!!

I can get behind this! However, I guess that’s easy for me to say, since I’m not entering the give-away. Still, the whole master set thing was originally based on sets with reasonable-ish pull rates and only one kind of reverse holo - the game has changed significantly (at least for Prismatic itself, I guess we’ll see about rates and pokeball/master ball reverses for the longterm). It’d be one thing if he was giving himself the full run to get all the cards, but dang I wouldn’t have judged on him skipping this one, and I still won’t judge if he has to modify or bow out on this one.

I work at target and the excel distributor literally is sending less product . Which is interesting. Not just low product of new stuff but from 15 boxes of Pokémon related items to just 4-5 boxes per week

facts. Prismatic is nuts cuz an Umbreon godpack is literally like hitting the lottery. havent checked Eeveelution SIR prices recently but the Umbreon alone is $1500+ & the Sylveon above $1k. hitting a godpack can actually change lives LOLLL

Hey, you ended up having to buy the Umbreon, while I ended up making a hard decision recently to sell my PSA 10 Moonbreon, along with my gold cards from Crown Zenith, and my Mew Vmax alt art. Got $2,400 cash for it. Decided to due to personal finances. And the Umbreon wasn't exactly the proudest piece to my collection anyway since I initially bought it with money I didn't have at the time. I was always so mad that I could never pull it myself and gave into fomo. Honestly, I've slowly been feeling burnt out by the hobby ever since products have been so hard to come by (at least the ones I want), and all the current madness is going on at the moment. Guess I just need to slow my roll a bit till things settle down.😒 At the end of the day, we obviously have to remind ourselves that collecting is a luxury that not everyone can afford.😅

I agree with DP Prismatic evolutions could have done with some illustration rares. It would have made “the juice worth the squeeze”. I never expect I will pull an SIR with the number of product I can afford to buy, butI I feel IRs are far more attainable with a much greater chance to cement some strong, fun nostalgic memories when ripping a hit with my son and his favourite Pokémon (eeveelutions)!

I was able to get my hands on a 151 ultra-premium collection box close to launch and that was it. The stock dried up and prices skyrocketed so haven't bought anymore. I'm on the same page here, not really willing to pay well over MSRP for any of these recent sets.

I like the you might pull something big part. It’s so true in my case haha. I’ve given up that notion lol. Been opening cards for the last 7-8 years since coming back into the hobby/collecting. I have yet to pull any top chase card from any set I have opened start at the end of xy, sun and moon, S&S and now SV. I don’t open a crazy amount of cards maybe about a booster box is or a bit more per set. Definitely more of a sealed collector now with my luck haha.

I use to open a case of booster boxes per set plus all the other products. That's how I pulled lots of big cards. But I have tons of bulk v,vmax,vstar, ex,full art,trainers. I don't really sell much. Sold 1 zard sar other day $180. I have 5 more only card sold in 4 years.

151 is the set that got me back into pokemon cards since base set when I was kid, but I bought only few packs and collection boxes in 2023 so my binder is half empty, should I just go and buy booster bundles for resell to fill it? Or should I wait? I dont care much about Surging Sparks or Prismatic ( although I bought few packs of it). Or is there any 1gen set coming in like next year?

youre cooked. halfway is the worst way- too full to quit, too empty to continue. if u absolutely MUST complete the 151 master set i would look up values for all the cards youre missing & get an idea of how much it would cost to buy them individually. this will depend heavily on what u have already pulled & what u still need. if u havent pulled any or even most of the top 10 cards in the set i’d just forget about it & move on. if u already have some of the expensive chases like the Zard SIR etc & youre only missing relatively inexpensive cards, just buy the singles. i would absolutely NOT pay resale/market price for sealed product to rip & try to complete the set. if youre going to buy sealed product to rip just try to hit those Costcos for Blooming Waters. 12 packs for $45 is the best it will ever get until/unless the market craters & the hobby has an existential crisis lol.

@ I I’m based in Europe (Czechia) and we are getting almost no Blooming waters stock. Apparently only 2-300 boxes for the whole country. So copping that is almost impossible. Regarding my collection I only have Bulbasaur SIR and Mew. Nothing else valuable. Terrible luck, booster bundles are selling for around 72eur ( that’s 12€ per booster. 😭). I guess waiting for Team Rocket 2025 is way too 😀
