Behemoth was more of a dance/jumpy album if i can say so. But Non Paradisi is just terrifying. No more catchy melody. No more fun. Just fear. Aggrandizement is scary, Lake of fire is disturbing (af), 4th is spookier than ever and I am abaddon is a terrifying masterpiece. I can't tell if it's better than Behemoth or not because they don't have the same goal but i can tell you that it's a good album that was worth the loooong wait.
@hazevision73788 жыл бұрын
Still had fun and danced like crazy! But yes, the album is scary, uncomfortable and batshit terrifying. A lot of synthwave artists tried to capture that 80s horror vibe, but GosT got it just right. There's something in the synth tones and arrangements, that'll make you shiver. Just imagine listening to the album at night, while walking through the empty streets. Scary stuff. I think, as a whole, Non Paradisi is a better thought out album than Behemoth. Both are different beasts whatsoever, but while Behemoth feels like a collection of tracks (awesome tracks, mind you), Non Paradisi has a solid concept and every track feels in place.
@louloup99078 жыл бұрын
I 100% agree with you
@alainrutishauser83278 жыл бұрын
CuKe I don't know which album you listened to, but Non Paradisi has some fairly synthpop-y passages that are far away from being scary. For example Unum Infernum has to be his happiest tune to date, at least the first two minutes, of course with the typical GosT-note by ending the chord progression with a dissonant tone. Non Paradisi is starting to grow on me, though I have to say there's filler tracks on this one too.
@cuke44418 жыл бұрын
Alain Rutishauser I compared it to "Behemoth". From my own experience,no other "darksynth" albums desserve more the "Dark" in front of "Synth" than this one.

Maybe I am too baked right now, but it sounds like the most thoughtful and mature release in synth wave genre by this day. I am feeling like drowning in it deeper and deeper with every listening. And also it somehow reminds me videogame DooM (1994) in terms of mood. Scary, dark and still somehow happy as hell!

I think I can use this for my DnD campaigns to different dimesions like Abyss. I really like the album. It is eerie and powerful. But the synth is stil strong. This is GosT and his established style beeing taken to an extreme. This differes from teh normal synthwave and I think the term 'slasherwave' fits it perfectly well. Keep it up Bloodmusic and GosT!

There was this one time I had a friend who loved dubstep and for some reason hated synthwave dark synth retrowave new retrowave and slasherwave He was insanely ignorant about composers like perturbator carpenter brut and gost I put the gost behemoth perturbator remix into his MP3 We are now god like bffs...
@eartianwerewolf6 жыл бұрын
Cyber Blade some of this genre relishes in past sounds too much and doesn't do a lot of the messing with noise that dubstep can do so I understand the sentiment. I think some of the bands need to stretch their legs and step outside of the retro- synth zone just a bit.

My only criticism of Behemoth, as good as it is, was that it seemed to be lacking teeth or a type of heavyness implied by the album art. I also feel like GosT got upstaged by Perturbator on that remix he did, which to me was just better than all the other tracks on Behemoth. This album definitely hits a lot harder than Behemoth, in my opinion, and an epic re-telling of an already epic poem. Only thing I'm not super crazy about is the recycling of 4th from Skull, which I can forgive since it seems to fit the story, but maybe should have been added to or re-done? Since it is a new album. Just my two cents.
