Thoughts: • Multiple layers of undo and redo is wonderful • Being able to record the modifiers themselves is unique and awesome • Expandable storage would be great if possible • Ability to record while in half/quarter speed and in reverse like you can with the H9 looper would be really perfect for this pedal. So you can record a loop, put it in reverse & half speed, record a loop on top of that, and then go back to forward at 100% speed so that the loop you just recorded is now reversed at 2x speed and the original is back to its normal self. That’s one of my favorite things to do out of all the H9’s features.

First of all, holy crap! That looks really really amazing. If you are hearing suggestions, something I'd love to see is to being able to call the modifiers with an exp/midi controller. Like for example having a six switch controller, that would cancel the mod knobs and switches so you have access to all 6 of them with your foot, being each footswitch an on/off switch. Anyway, congrats for your work, the first prototype already looks bananas!

Experimental looper! So, a few things. Being able to be in record while modifying the loop length/sample rate and then that being reflected in all its crazy glory on playback. The Timefactor/H9 does this swimmingly. As does the PCM 42 and it looks like the Rose. Can you make it do that? Can you change the speed in intervals when it’s in record? Additionally, loopers get way easier to use when you’re not relying on 2 buttons to control multiple functions. A breakout box foot controller or at least the possibility to attach a midi foot controller with permanent mapping would be a game changer. Lastly, the Hexe Revolver loopers have a neat function in that the speed and pitch controls while continuously variable have wide sweet spots so you can zing to a 5th and not overshoot. Hard to explain without using one. If you need a line of a Timefactor and or Hexe pedal hit me up. Oh yeah, the ease with which you can move the loop start point and end point on the Timefactor is a thing of beauty. Something to consider.

Definitely potential. I very much dig your demo videos so take this the right way, I think the sparse guitar tone notes that normally work so well in your demos somewhat fight the prime objective here. Very hard to really hear the potential of the modifiers and cross type function (which seems like the nice lock and snapshot modes I’ve always wished were worked into a looper). But definite definite potential.

This is going to be amazing. I was literally trying to have a friend build something that would give me the ability to edit my loop post recording. I have a Boss TC3 right now that I was built a position shifter for. The vast amount of loops that can be stored and the ease of recording them was why I chose the TC3. However the addition of those cheap drum loops is a completely unnecessary feature and the boss components I feel are so over-manufactured that it's impossible for it not to be a little cheap. I wanted those drum features removed, the amount of loop storage and ease to remain, and the ability to edit and bend a loop i've made post-performance. A few weeks later my favorite pedal company announces this. The tape degradation deff needs to be a focus. Can't wait to see what else comes out of this. The usb changeable features are neat. Deff going in a great direction. No doubt in my mind that I will end up with this on my pedal board. Goodbye RC3!

@@Knobs Great! consider a something that can change the pitch of the loop. Some real modern production stuff in a pedal would be so sweet to live tweek/"produce" a loop like that.
@NathanParmar5 жыл бұрын
Hello Mr Knobs, Firstly: you are great, I love your stuff. Secondly: here is a list of things I would like a looper pedal to do: 1) Record a loop of what I'm playing, quickly and easily, and play it back accurately; 2) record a loop (Loop A), play that back, then record a second loop (Loop B) of the same length, which then plays back at the same time as Loop A; 3) record a loop (Loop A), then instantly record a second loop (Loop B) without having to wait for Loop A to make a pass before I can overdub; 4) record a loop (Loop A) of a certain length (say 300 ms), then record a second loop (Loop B) of a different length (say 200ms), and the difference between the two is made up with silence at the end of Loop B; 5) record a loop (Loop A) of a certain length (say 300 ms), then record a second loop (Loop B) of a different length (say 200ms), and Loop B loops again as soon it is finished, so that the start points of each loop are only in sync every 2 repeats of Loop A / 3 repeats of Loop B; 6) record a loop and store it to a specific slot in the pedal memory; 7) recall a stored loop by pressing a foot switch or using a control on the pedal; 8) recall a stored loop by sending a midi message (PCM or CC or something?) to the pedal; 9) store and recall knob settings using either a foot switch/on-unit control; or by sending a midi message; 10) record a loop (Loop A), play it back, then send a midi message to recall a stored loop (Loop B), but Loop A keeps playing, and you use the cross function to cross fade from Loop A into Loop B; 11) record a loop (Loop A), play it back, add a bunch of knob settings (Setting A), then send a midi message to recall a stored setting (Setting B), but Setting A is still active, and you use the cross function to cross fade from Setting A into Setting B; 12) record a loop (Loop A), play it back, add a bunch of knob settings (Setting A), then send a midi message to recall a stored loop (Loop B) with stored settings (Setting B), but Loop A is still playing and Setting A is still active, and you use the cross function to cross fade from Loop/Setting A into Loop / Setting B; 13) expression pedal input, assignable to any control and any group of controls [having 2 separate expression inputs would be great, so that 2 distinct knobs or groups of knobs can be controlled separately, but I imagine that could be tricky); 14) MIDI SYNC INPUT (so important [I do electronic stuff with computers]); 15) separate inputs for midi sync and expression, so I can do both; 16) a way to gradually change the tempo of the loop (speed up/slow down) in such a way that the pitch of the recorded loop is left unaffected; 17) a way to gradually change the tempo of the loop (speed up/slow down) in such a way that pitch of the recorded loop *is* affected (raised/lowered); 18) dual mono outputs, so that one loop (Loop A) can be sent to a specific output/amp/pedal group etc (Output A) and one loop (Loop B), playing at the same time, can be sent to a different output/amp etc (Output B) with a different sound structure or timbre. That way the two loops, which might complement each other melodically or harmonically but be different 'timbrally', won't clash or fight each other coming out of the one sound source. Perhaps, if 2 separate physical output jacks would be a problem, this could be achieved using a TRS-dual TS Y-cable? --- Obviously, some of what I'm looking for is already implemented in Blooper (e.g. 1); some of what I'm looking for is conflicting (e.g. 16 & 17) (however; I'd be quite happy to change between these conflicting settings by using the dip switches); some of it is probably impossible (12?); some of it is probably impractical (18). I am aware of this. I am also aware that implementing some of these features adds great complexity in terms of control, and makes the pedal more like a DAW than a pedal, and some people would not like that complexity. (That said, I am totally ok with this, as I would like to stop using my DAW to loop and start doing my looping on my pedal board). Also, some other people probably suggested all of these things already. These are reasons I thought of for not coming up with ideas, and then of not sharing them once I had come up with some. However, I'm telling you these things anyway because you said you wanted to know my thoughts. Thank you for reading my thoughts.

Then I’ll have two different loops I can switch between and perform over top of. Works but have been daydreaming of different ways of doing more w loops. Synced ramp - clever. Undo and redo - yes, yes yes. Crossfade - non essential, but welcome addition. Suggestions: synced tremolo as one of the mod options, multiple expression pedal assignable destinations via dip switches, scrubbing through the position of a stuttering sample (like MI Clouds le'ts say) preferably assignable to the exp.pedal, and - please: one "loop mode" that is not actually loop but a delay-ish buffer (like Count to Five). You're voice is absolutely fine BTW.

This thing is really incredible, wonderfully innovative and brilliantly designed. I look forward to trying it out! I'm a bit worried I'll have trouble keeping track of the loop/all of the general features given the rotating functionality of each footswitch. A wet/dry function would be nice, or just making it so the stability when set to 0 is a completely dry function as opposed to the warmth/warble. I know this isn't supposed to be a traditional looper by any means but it'd be nice if it could also replace the traditional looper on my board.

A couple things that come to mind is possibly a variable bitrate so playback can differ to how clean/dirty one would want the sound. Adjustable pitch control would also be amazing to add along with half speed. I’m not sure if that’s what the Drift knob did, but it would be great to have pitch take the place of drift if it’s getting cancelled.
@MbSkyfish5 жыл бұрын
The drift idea sounds interesting to me, but i guess it's all in implementation... My suggestion is based on the only reason i don't own any CB pedals yet - make it STEREO (even trs) i/o before RPL does it on the Tensor v2. Maybe the ability to play the primary/alt loops panned hard L/R. It's gonna be pricey anyway. This continual one-uppance is going to bankrupt me (financially - I already have morally covered).
