@@andromedusmoat9608 Your formulation would have been great. Tying your impression of a product or company so directly to personal experience of a band isn’t so wise, which is the drift of my comment. It had nothing to do with Bon Iver other than that being the example. No one knows what another person’s impression of a band will be, exactly, so in terms of communication, Manuel (who made a sweet comment, from the standpoint of intent) could have said something like “The creativity of Chase Bliss is something else. It’s so inspiring, like your first experience of a band you wind up loving.” Or some such thing, which would at least land with music lovers as a group. I had no intention of crapping on any band, much less someone’s taste. This would be a pointless exercise. Absolutely excellent work. One thing about Chase Bliss pedals that continues to bum me out is the lack of MIDI control of dipswitch functionality. I’m a tweaker but I can’t get on my hands and knees and tilt my whole pedalboard with one hand while I struggle to flick a tiny switch with my pick that I have to squint to read the label of. I’m already imagining how much of the pedal is going to remain unexplored for me because it’s actually physically painful to access it. Still, you guys rock - pushing it forward like no one else 🤘

I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure the dip switch settings are saved into the presets. As such you can setup different presets using midi and recall as needed. It's not quite CC control over them, but can get you pretty much anything you want from them. Maybe setup different presets based on the dip switches as a base setting, then play with the knobs etc in real time off that.

Agreed. I feel the same way about Blooper. Very interesting and creative pedal that's useless in performance because of it's size. I'm not going to bend over or sit on the ground at a gig while I play with the knobs. If it was larger, like the boomerang, it would be so useful in live scenarios. Small size is great for board real-estate and studio work but not for gigs IMO.

Quick question: I am less interested in the echo engine and more interested in the memory features. I am wondering if there is a way to do the following: record 3 minute loop, set the scan to auto but rather than “hear the artifacts of the scan knob moving” I want the scan knob to instantly jump to parts in the memory and also be able to control the length of the snippets (not just how often it occurs). So basically use the habit to jump to random spots in memory, control how long those snippets are before jumping again, and not have the artifacts of hearing the scan knob actually moving (getting rid of the sound that sounds like you are scanning radio stations and make these transitions more smooth and instant, ideally with a cross fade). I get the sense that cross fading is not a feature but can habit do these other things?

Like all Chase Bliss pedals, it sounds like all the other pedals they released in the last 10 years, it probably distorts if the signal is too hot and is over priced. Many will buy then most will sell. This pedal is just the blooper, with a few tweeks. Sold the Blooper after 2 months of use, as like all Chase Bliss, the sound was so poor given the price. I suppose if you love playing 3 notes then moving knobs, you'll love it. Although I'll give CHase Bliss Credit on one thing, they can take something that is not a guitar pedal and convince people it is. Its a VST plugin with knobs.

I wish there were more VSTs with knobs. But yeah, CB audio quality is atrociously digital.

This comment is similar to someone saying "you must like a tubescreamer or boss metal zone because this is the only sound that is acceptable/relevant." I don't like/use a lot of pedals for how I play but I would never say those pedals are not relevant for certain sounds. They just aren't for me. I have 6 chase bliss pedals and they are some of my favorite pedals. There are too many opinions in your statement that just don't mean much. That is the wonderful thing about music and gear sounds. Nothing is fact if someone else can say "I love that sound." I think they are underpriced for what I can get out of them and the decades of use they will provide.

Every single guitar player would buy your pedals if they were $250 USD.

If your goal in life is to spend all discretionary income in order to tweak knobs incessantly this appears to be another necessary item indeed…

You need a PhD just to understand what the fuck is going on in this video.

You need a de easer on your voice my friend. It’s detracting from your video in a very distracting manner. No offence intended your a great reviewer it’s just the sibilant nature of your voice probably coming from your whole signal chain and of course your sibilant character present in your voice as does everyone else in the world, it’s not unique to you. I’m sure you’ve heard of them being an audio reviewer. So try using one out man! Peace
