resurrecting an old one here but going to go see him again this Friday so getting back into my Donnie groove. He grew up across town from me and lives pretty close by still. My aunt was good friends with Donnie and his wife in the early 80's and he wore my grandfathers old police pants on stage and ripped the crotch out. Pretty sure these are them...lol. We see him all around here at restaurants and Wal Mart, etc. Donnie was a mortgage broker for a long time and my mother was in real estate and used to talk to him a few times a week. She got me backstage passes back around 2006 then we got to chat with him before the show a few years ago. Very nice guy and great voice and fantastic live shows!. Last I saw them was 2018 and it was still all the original band members except the drummer. Don't know why though. The keyboardist is now an attorney in the music industry. More to that story but too much to tell here

Talked to Donnie last week and asked him about my grandfathers pants. He said he couldn't remember but said it sounds like something that would happen to him...lol

I remember seeing Donnie and the Cruisers back in 1991 in a small club in the north hills area of Pittsburgh called either Rascals or Jergels, I can't remember. Another thing I can't remember is who I went with. All I remember is how F' ing awesome that show was.

Live at Blossom is the first live concert video by Donnie Iris, recorded and originally released in 1981.[1] The concert was recorded at Blossom Music Center, when the band opened for the Michael Stanley Band.

He did not get the respect or the promotion much like the Tubes. Just sad cause they are great talents.

He and his group remind of Huey Lewis and The News, with the 50's influence and guys who look like they're plumbers on the side.

You sure about that? He was playing in the Jaggerz and Wild Cherry between 1964 and 1979. When did he have time for Vietnam?
