Container growers, set drip system up with gatorade bottles, pvc pipe. Cut a section 10 inches long, put it half deep above your root ball. Backfill . Punch 2 1/8 holes in gatorade cap. Fill bottle 80% full and stand it on pvc. I make a wire collar to support it. Sun heats bottle, water drips on rootball. Carries any container thru a couple or more days. U cant over water. U dont waste water. Works like a charm.

I wish I were your neighbor.... You have an awesome garden and there is no doubt in my mind that you will have more produce than you can ever use.... and I would be glad to help you out with that surplus ;-)

I grow tomatoes in containers you can feed them with miracle grow that you suggested every 2 to 3 days the reason so many times is because in containers the water rinses all of the nutrients out and you do have to water them more frequently a drip irrigation works but for those of us who use containers You are correct you cannot feed them too much very good videos thanks again

Ca nitrate is more for when you forgot to dig in calcium before planting, or for old trees where digging in is not practical. Ca Nitrate is kind of expensive per unit of fertilizer, but still useful as its very soluble. The cheaper and more steady way is to add gypsum(Ca sulfate) or calcite lime(Ca carbonate) before digging, use gypsum if you have high pH lime if you have low pH. About 25 pounds per 1000 square feet, 50 if you know there is low Ca or need to lime heavy for pH. Then try to keep steady moisture, dry and wet cycling reduces Ca absorption even if there is enough in the soil. And I have had problems with high yield brand being contaminated with machine oil. Jack's (hydro part B) or Yara or Powergrow/Masterblend are all better quality, as they are mainly sold for dissolving in automated greenhouse systems. (And cheaper if you can justify and find 25 or 50 pound bags, but they cost more in the small bags.)

Honestly you were doing good until you broke out the miracle grow. I live in a small town and fellers who have had gardens for thirty years ask me what my secret is. I don't use any chemicals. None. My sweet corn reaches ten ft tall with twelve plus inch ears. Tomato plants get too large to manage and yields are phenomenal. My neighbor used miracle grow and he just died from cancer last week. I'm not saying that was the cause but I always told him don't use chems. Just trust me when I say you need worm castings and compost plus bt and some calcium. You will be amazed. Worm castings are my secret. Don't use chems guys.

You are so right when it comes to Miracle-Gro I didn't realize how dangerous that stuff really is and how unhealthy it is to my self and my family. So I have shortly after this video moved on to other means of good planting soil and fertilizers. Thank you so much for sharing some of the knowledge you had in this comment I am definitely going to step up on my knowledge when using good soil technique for some of the most delicate vegetable plants thank you

I need to correct you. I am a Miracle Gro user also. I've been using it for 45 years. No where on the packaging does it say the word CALCIUM. So please correct yourself. You shouldn't be telling viewers FALSE INFORMATION

I want to thank you for your feedback but if you'd paid attention to the video I was talking about two different products using them into different applications at the same time I was speaking of the calcium nitrate made by high-yield then I was speaking about the Miracle-Gro in a separate application process. I understand this video what's about a couple of different products that I like to use in my garden I'm sorry if it was confusing to you but thank you for stopping by the channel God bless you

@@outdoorswithtim.576 not true. Rewatch your video. You were speaking of Miracle Gro. I can hear. I am well educated. I will go back and give you the time stamp and then you can apologize to me. Dont ever insult my intelligence.

Watch your video the time stamp is 10:49 while speaking about Mircacle Gro. You said it had Calcium Nitrate

@@mikehendrix6558 I never said you were on educated sir I do appreciate you stopping by the channel reviewing the video however I believe the information I given is very accurate and it's good information it's not down to a science or for anyone to take my word for it it's just some advice I'm and I was speaking in terms about both products not just one particular product. sorry you disapprove I hope you have a wonderful day and God bless you
