This is by far the best interview I’ve listened to. Mike bishop answered so many of the questions I’ve had about the last few years . Fantastic

Great episode. I always love to hear/see the GWAR guys drop character and actually give interviews. Can't wait for that documentary. Funny story: I saw GWAR in Denver at the Oriental Theater on Pearl Harbor Day. It was a great show, but I'm pretty sure I ended up picking up COVID. Survived putting my arm around you for a picture at the VIP on the BME tour the February before lockdown, made it through the next two years, and then of course fuckin' GWAR got me.

Cant wait for new GWAR CD. And hopefully another tour of Aust in 2022. Have been to their last 2 tours. To make up for the postponed 2019 tour. Had backstage meet& greet tics as well. RIP DAVE & COREY. 😪😪. Up there in the Gwarniverse looking down.

Great interview... like always 😆 Michael seems like a relaxed dude with good vibes! I never knew he has a degree in music and part of a crazy group like Gwar! And they say metal heads are uneducated, psh!

He came back to the band in late 98 and early 99 and played bass on the album we kill everything and even toured with them.

I was a punk rock kid in the mid 90s. Didn’t like metal. Heard Gwar and they were my gateway to metal. My first show at 12 years old was Gwar. Every show has to live up to that 😂
@Grimeyhoob2 жыл бұрын
That’s awesome. For me my gateway into metal was Sick of it All and Cro Mags - I also liked only hardcore punk initially. I’m massively into metal now.
@grahfkarate17992 жыл бұрын
@@Grimeyhoob awesome. Cro Mags rule. I was born in 85 thus when Green Day broke I was 9. Metal just wasn’t a popular thing at the time. If I were born 10 years earlier I would see those crossover bands as a introduction to metal. Crazy time, DRI, Suicidal all morphing into metal
@Grimeyhoob2 жыл бұрын
@@grahfkarate1799 yeah the Gilman street punk scene was cool too. Machine head and Rancid used to tour a lot together back then. In fact Lars Frederiksen of Rancid has been on NFR as a guest and he comes out to a lot of the metal shows like Lamb of God and Exodus in the Bay Area. I now view punk and metal as both angry siblings who wanted a lot of the same things from their music. Thrash metal wouldn’t be around without punk rocks speed and politics to influence it. Love both punk and metal - everything from NOFX to Morbid angel. 🤘🏻
@grahfkarate17992 жыл бұрын
@@Grimeyhoob Zetro from Exodus has a KZbin show! Lars was on it and he talked about his metal roots. If you haven’t seen it check it out! Lars son is a big metal dude apparently.

How GWAR isn't one of the biggest metal bands of all time, defies logic! They tick every box for what is required and make the likes of Slipknot look like rank amateurs by comparison. That said, they're still absolute fucking LEGENDS to those who know \m/
