Whelen's loudest siren to be specific. WPS-4008. 132 dB from 100 feet away. And out of all 4008s, only one of them has malfunctioned. And it was just once.

Interesting. This unit is wired backwards. Looking from the front, it should spin clockwise.

It has an arrow pointing the correct rotation, which is counter clockwise looking at it opposite the motor side. I have one. They are directional. It will sound off clockwise, just not as loud.

4008s are not made anymore. They were discontinued I believe in the 80s or 90s due to low income. They bought the cheaper sirens that had the same output, so they discontinued the 4008s are in fact "rare" as they are no longer made. I meant they bought cheaper as in cities and counties bought the cheaper ones. Such as the 4004. That's why the 4004 is more common then 4008s. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure they discontinued them. But the 4008 is a heck of a job of whelen for sure. Best whelen out there currently in my opinion
