FusionofCultures I'm going to try this method too. Your hair turned out great! My only question is....when I blow out my hair it frizzes pretty easily and so I'm wondering how long this heatless blow out lasts for you? Thanks again!

I am Haitian American and I do this all the time! I love threading, it's the only way I stretch my hair. Threading also helps me keep track of my hair length. My only tip is to re-do the threading the second day, you'll have a much better stretch.

I saw this in KZbin a while back and now a wash day doesn't go by when I dont do this after washing and conditioning. It really helps to ensure your hair dries in a stretched state and makes it easier to handle. thanks for this video. I know many still don't know about this amazing method

I tried this on my daughters hair after watching your video and I was impressed with the results. It's a bit of a learning curve but nothing a little practice can't take care of. I also did it on her friends hair and then placed her under a hooded dryer as I didn't have time to wait to style her hair and that method worked like a charm. I wanted her hair to be stretched for a 2 strand twist style. Her hair was completely dry and stretched and retained moisture. Thank you for sharing. Excellent method. back 2 our roots

Hello Laila! You always crack me up "This is not a tomb for your strands" lolol! Today one of my Google+ buddies inbox me and after months of me mentioning on and off how great, how awesome you and your channel are, she went over and checked out your page and was inspired by your Crown Collections playlist and tried a modified style and it came out really good, I think she's happy with it, I'm waiting to hear her full feedback on it lol. I haven't tried African threading yet and the results I've seen are really good, so I can't wait to try it. When I want a super duper heatless stretch it usually takes about days to achieve, I put my hair into about 10-15 twists, stretch them with bobby pins across my head and after they've dried I go in with each one, finger detangle to the max and re-twist but in larger sections and the next day I have that blown out look...and to take it a step further one-time I wrapped my hair(like when we had relaxers) and tied it down with a scarf and when I took off that scarf, woo-wee I had ULTRA stretched hair, it was crazy lol. It's so amazing the different methods/techniques or just all the diverse things we can do with our hair. Thanks for sharing, I always enjoy your tutorials. : )

ya'll I love using thread to stretch out my hair, but anytime I sleep with it in my hair, my hair the next day is dry AF!!! This never happens when I use twist to stretch my hair but African threading gives you that cool blown out look. Any suggestions!?!?
@mayaa28807 жыл бұрын
Make sure to use a good moisturizer and whipped butter to seal in moisture like she said. What works best for my hair is to start threading on lightly damp hair (like 70% dry). Then I use a plastic thread. Cotton thread absorbs moisture. Good luck!
@SAnderson547 жыл бұрын
I'll try doing it that way. Thanks

HI! Thanks so much for the tutorial. This is an swesome technique that really stretches my hair well. I must have missed something with the way you tie off the threading at the end. I completed all the steps to my understanding, but a few come loose due to the knot I make. It seems as though you don't have any issues with them unravelling, and it also seems easy to take apart. Could make a short video or send me a written explanation with more detail? Perhaps a tips and tricks video for threading? Thanks so much! Your videos are very inspiring!

FusionofCultures yeayh- thanks for replying. By the way your tea recipe for shedding is the bomb - just started using it 4 days ago and already my hair is back to normal Also I realised that it detangles single strand knots as well. Because of the shedding I was also experiencing lots of knots as my hair is thin fine and very soft - so I drench the knots with the mix then leave it for few seconds and it literally just melts. In my mix I used peppermint essential drops though as I couldn't find the leaves at the time of purchase (it's still hard to find natural products here in S.Africa - and online prices are expensive). So really thank you for sharing 👏 you saved my 12 hairs gal like literally - Enkosi (means thank you in Xhosa - lol)

813_babyy It seems time consuming to me also, I've done the method before but only with hair bands. The stretchy hair ties
@FusionofCultures7 жыл бұрын
lol it's not that time consuming.... it took me about an hour to do 6 on each side, 12 all together and it takes me the same amount of time to do 12 braids
@QueenKongKi7 жыл бұрын
Must be nice, no matter what I do to my hair its time consuming I might as well do this because its take an hour for me just to get 6 cornrolls, wash day is 6- 15 hours this looks way easier than that ..
