I used to believe that it was inhumane and disgraceful sport but after watching your videos and some of the explanations on why you're hurting certain species I have come to the realization that hunters care and respect wild life more than most people do. I think something people often don't realise is that hunters have an incredible amount of empathy for animals, I'd say more than those who don't hunt in many cases. Hunters learn so much about what animals are thinking and how they live their lives, they have to have empathy to be effective in predicting animal behaviours, as well as the fact that hunters are usually very concerned about making sure that their quarry expire in as quick and humane a fashion as possible

I've done that, it works great too! I used a beagle to bring them in close for a shot. The only drawback was the dog didn't know when I shot. It was waiting for the sound of a shotgun going off to come back to me. I always had to call the dog back.

They can be DEADLY accurate with practice!! I bought the cold steel big bore “pro” model I think it was and was immediately impressed with the power and accuracy I was capable of after only a few practice shots. And of course it did nothing but improve in both areas the more I shot it. Killed loads of squirrels, more than few rabbits, a few doves, and even got a raccoon one night. The broad heads it came with where basically hunting sharp out of the box but a couple mins on a honing atone and they where shaving sharp, more than sharp enough to quickly and humanely dispatch small game. Even the “mini broad heads” it came with after sharpening where capable of taking squirrels and rabbits. I still love hunting with it, haven’t in a while but I will soon after watching Tim’s videos.

always loved the blowguns, started using them in 71, darts had round orange plastic bead. small game was big game with the blowgun. shot a lot of frogs and some fish with them too. everything was fair game back then and we even shot rats at night with a flashlight.

Those orange cold steel cones, a bamboo skewer and a exacto blade trimmed and glued to it are a much lighter and flatter shooting dart that still penetrates good. I've been blowgun hunting since I was a child, approaching thirty now.

I had a blowgun back in the 80's. My ammo was high tenacity steel rods that when you snip them in half at an angle, they were like razor tips. Then you heat up the other end and sink it through a plastic bead. The bead fit the blowgun perfectly that when you shot a dart, they came out what looks like about four times faster then his darts do. Also, if you keep both eyes open, you'll see two blowguns in your peripheral vision. Line up your target in between the two and the accuracy is finomanel. I don't see how he misses. I can't remember me even missing a target. I don't think his darts have enough weight and possibly there's too much of a gap between the dart and the blowgun to effectively push it through it. He's having to lob the dart at short distances. Mine were accurate up to about 30 yards before I had to raise up to compensate for the drop. I had a 5 gal. bucket filled with sand to practice on. My blowgun was so powerful that at around 25 yards, it would drive the dart all the was through and pop the bead off the end. Not a good advertisement for his product in my opinion.

I saw the Cherokee nations blow guns when I was in N. Carolina. They were so cool. No one was shooting them but they were all natural materials. I don't think Blow guns aren't legal in my state. There isn't anything in the rule book about them for small game. but they would be cool to use.

The blowgun kill I am most proud of is when I stalked it from place to place. I almost didn't find it, as it was playing dead. I actually wasn't sure if if was the same one I had been stalking. Because we use rat poison in our near rural area, it may have been dead. I decided to test that theory and huff, perfect head shot!

I'm finally successful at blowgun hunting. Instead of playing around the house and garage. I took to the wilderness... 3 cotton tails and a porkypine. I had a hard time with the porky. Best place to hit them is in the soft under belly. I do have a question for you Slockmaster... how long before the rasor darts rust out? I have quite a few that I never recovered after missing some shots.
