As the Cinderella of the Pacific, Ensenada has long been a favorite travel destination for all types of travelers. Although the city has many charms, and has become one of the first stops for many cruises along the Mexican Rivera, La Bufadora is one of its most popular and well known spots.. Located 17 miles south of Ensenada at the tip of the Punta Banda peninsula, La Bufadora (The Blowhole) is an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water well over 60 feet in the air. La Bufadora is considered to be the second largest marine geyser in the world.
From the Seaport Village in Ensenada, La Bufadora is thirty-six kilometers to the South (22 miles). Visitors to the area that have access to a car or have a car should follow Mexico Highway 1 most of the way to the blowhole, although as always, should consult their own navigational aids (maps, GPS, etc.) for specific directions. Visitors to the region who are on a cruise or similar non-vehicle excursion also can find either a taxi service or tour group to take them to the area, as the spot is very popular.
While the blowhole itself is a quarter mile walk from the parking lots, this walk has plenty to observe, as there are shops and restaurants lining both sides of the streets. More than 150 shops line the street from the bus area to La Bufadora.

Thank you. Yes, the vendors were too aggressive.. it’s half a mile full of shops and restaurants before going to the actual blowhole. It’s a great natural phenomenal.. I wish I was there during high tide. Last time I went there during high tide and the water was shorting more than 75 feet. It was a fun day and my parents enjoyed a lot..) have a great day!

Fun to visit Mexico and Ensenada! The Blowhole is very exciting! I think there’s something similar in Hawaii, where the surf pushes up through the rocks… it’s amazing that the surf at La Bufadora can shot so high into the air. Fun shops too! Sounds like a great stop on the cruise- the ship looks huge at the dock… I bet it’s amazing to be onboard, especially in the evening when the stars are out! 😄👍⭐⭐

Thanks Jenn. Its my second cruise trip, this time with my parents. Yes, there is one in Hawaii as well. This blowhole is amazing.. its better to visit during high time. Last time when i went there, the tide was high and I saw the water was shooting higher than this.
