God I Love How It Struggled To Idle. Sounds So Freaking Mean!!!!
@kola3603 жыл бұрын
Does anyone know why it struggles to idle like that? Is it because of the blower? It sounds amazing!
@salvatorehayes27533 жыл бұрын
@@kola360 It's Usually The Cam That Makes It Struggle To Idle At Lower RPMs. If He Sets His Idle RPM Higher It Would Run Smooth. What Happens Is The Cam Usually Has Alot Of Overlap And Lots Of Lift And Duration. At Lower RPMs They Are Opening Up And Letting A Ton Of Air In. More Air Means More Power. This Kind Of Gets Unstable At Lower RPMs Cus All Of A Sudden You Got Alot More Air Then Needed To Maintain Low Idle Speeds. This Makes A Rapid Increase In Crank Shaft Speed Making It "Lope". Crank Speeds Up And Then Slows Down. Also Less Manifold Vacuum At Low RPMs With Aggressive Cams. I'm Not Carb Expert But I'm Guessing It's Also Pulling In Fuel Erratically With Vacuum Fluctuations. When I Put A Cam In My V6 04 Monte Carlo It Didn't Lope Cus It Was Idling Around 1100RPM. I Had The Tuner Lower It To Like 700-800 And It Got A Nice Lope To It haha. But Yea I'd Image It's The Lower RPM Speeds, The Cam And That Massive Supercharger Is Making It A Musical Marvel At Low RPMs hahaha
@kola3603 жыл бұрын
@@salvatorehayes2753 Huh, thank you for answering! Thats very interesting, so you say that this has nothing to do with the supercharger at all? Its such a violent fluctuation in RPM, searching for lopey idle does not show this sort. I have a hard time thinking its only the valves? I saw a real gasser once, 50s bel air or something... Anyway, that engine struggled so badly to idle, he was driving around the parking lot (with only drive in, I assume) looked like he was pumping the gas. The whole car was rocking back and forth, i cant imagine it was a comfortable ride. But i remember thinking: Cooooool. hahaha
@salvatorehayes27533 жыл бұрын
