Fuel filters are a bastard Scotty, even on my Holdens, they are a pain! Another thing you could do if you need more tools is have a wish list for tools on your website & build a wall to hang said tools with the donators name on it. It doesn't have to be flashy expensive tools but every little bit helps. A mate of mine a while ago had his windscreen wiper motor break while it was pouring with rain. He was driving back from work at the time. He contacted me & asked him to get a new wiper motor from the wreckers near me which I got for him. He pulled up to my place & we had to replace the wiper motor while it was pissing it down with rain. The both of us were drenched to the bone. We got it going again, but I never want to do a job out in the driveway ever again with a ton of rain about.

I used to have a 1973 HQ 202 six cylinder red motor and I used to walk into Kmart (or Target) and get plugs points and condenser no worries………. At one point you could buy a sporty intake manifold and the brand was redline and I think I bought one for about 75 bucks in 1990. You could get tools pliers and those Chinese socket sets then after about three months would break but they got the job done on the day - spark plug remover tools oil filter remover tools all sorts of belts and they had ignition lead sets for all the common Holdens and Fords Them were the days……

I love your channel mate, please keep up the awesome content. I wish I had a dollar for every time a quick little job took eleventy thousand times longer than expected. One of my all-time bests (worsts) was the fuel filter in my dad’s (now mine) AU ute. Running crap under load, didn’t use proper flare nut spanner and stripped the hex on the filter. Swore for several days, then replaced everything else I suspected, including coils, plugs and leads. Turned out to be a bad MAF sensor (Windsor 5.0). 🤦♂️ The old fuel filter is still going strong, with a slightly butchered hex at the outlet end!😉😂

Talking about tuning and not sure how you'll go with it and the budget. If cant afford a j3 chip youll have timing to worry about as well. We once had a series 1 vn backyard turbo set up with a a seperate injector in the charge pipe on a hobbs switch from memory. All i know is it wasnt running off boost and when it was on boost took signal from an injector in the rail. A cleveland 72 degree thermostat has the same dimensions as 4l according to tridon , if you kept it cool enough youd be more ping resistant and the computer will be in rich warm up mode to help with more fuel too.
