Unbiased opinion...I had a lot of issues growing my hair and in November I bought a guide from an online KZbin guru whose audience is primarily black. Following her instructions, my hair has retained length like crazy. It hasn't been this long in 16 years. I've noticed that her detailed advice is extremely similar to his free guide. I wish I found him first so I could have saved my money. Long story short, his advice is legit.

Chris - you are a wealth of knowledge. My hair is SUPER fine and thinning on top. I want more volume, but my hair gets very oily, like after day 2 of shampooing and conditioning I can’t leave the house it is so noticeably greasy. I have some work to do with tips (double washing, etc) you have put in other videos. One thing I notice, though, is the models, like the one in this video, seem to have nice, healthy hair. I wish you could devote a series of highlighting (not coloring lol) someone with dreadful hair like mine. I’m 55, hormones are ravaging my hair and body. I have totally binged on your videos since I found your channel. Thank you so much for posting these. Personally, I did start with the Revlon Blowdryer brush. At Christmas time, I got the Amika blowdryer drush. I never listened to my hairdresser about using professional brands. I am a bit obsessive on my shampoo, conditioner and all of my products, but never thought much about only using professional stylers. Let me tell you, that Amika hairbrush changed my life. My hair looked so much much healthier and shiner. I got it with 2 free products at Christmas on sale. I paid $40 for the Revlon and $79 for the Amika which came with their full-size dry shampoo and a mid size bottle of the wizard detangler and heat protectant (I love this heat protectant more than Pureology and Bumble and Bumble. It almost feels oily when it goes on but it does not leave your hair looking or feeling oily. I usually leave my hair naturally curly in the winter and dry it is the winter. I have no more split ends. This brush has been a gamechanger for me.

My hair has improved so much just by following Chris’ advice - my hair was quite frizzy and damaged because of stress poor nutrition and non existent hair care routine. I used to use a claw clip for a few years to keep my hair up and didn’t realise the damage it was causing! The back of my head had shorter damaged / twisted hair and it looked awful. This is what transformed my hair : A blood test which showed low iron. So I was started on iron tablets. Better nutrition ie more protein like eggs and protein shakes and vitamins (multi plus vit D). Trinity hair care routine - Olaplex 3 - use on wet hair , leave for 10 minutes ONLY. Then wash with a herbal non commercial Neem shampoo (no chemicals / sulphates etc). Then a regular conditioner on mids. Dab hair with towel and use Pureology leave in conditioner on mid lengths. Hair dryer the hair (no hot irons). Jojoba oil rub tiny amount in hands and apply to the ends. The result after 3 months of iron and 1 month of this above hair routine - healthier shinier less frizzy hair. Its changed my hair from looking dull and frizzy to full of health. Although my hair is thinned anyway i dont have much, but its texture has definately improved :-). I had cut my hair to above shoulder to get rid of the damaged ends and no growth, and since following this routine my hair is actually growing longer! Thank you Chris

I have a really specific problem that I'd like your help with! I'm on a mental and physical health journey and going from no exercise for years, to trying to get about 30 minutes to an hour of intense activity everyday has definitely changed up my personal grooming routines. The only exercise I have truly ever enjoyed doing is swimming (because I hate sweating), so that's been my way back into being more active and I'm going about 3 to 4 times a week. So I went from only having to shower about every other day, and washing my hair only twice a week, to now showering after every swim session to get the chlorine off and stop it from damaging my hair. I have a pretty long length that I really want to keep, it has had some highlights and coloring done to it about 4- 5 times in as many years even though I'm naturally a dark blonde, and it's a fine shaft with slightly wavy texture and really fragile ends and edges that are prone to breakage. I'm really wondering what kind of routine or products you would recommend to help offset the damage and to get manageable, decent looking towel/air dried hair, as I usually don't have time for heat styling. Also, just a note, swim caps hardly ever keep hair completely dry and although I've been meaning to get one anyways, I just haven't yet. I do have plans to eventually add some strength training/cardio at a gym, and I also really wonder about what a good routine would be for taking care of hair after sweating, when I get around to starting that? Hope you see this! Love the info so far! Still watching some of the older vids, but I really appreciate your straight forward delivery and clearly high level of knowledge.

I didnt even have to buy anything, cause i have everything at home and the outcome is spectacular. I will replace on the long run, my products with your recommentions, but i never had the feeling compared to other content ceators that you have to sell something, I got more the vibe of use the stuff you have but the right way. Im so grateful i cant tell you how. It gave me some youth and selfesteem back and im looking forward how it will turn out on the long run. The only thing Im still struggeling, im a watersport fan and in the summer, when im in the south of france i look like my hairdryer exploded. Still have to find a way of what to do with my hair when its getting wet a lot, or when there is a lot of huminity, but thats another story. Anyhow THANK YOU SO MUCH, LOVE EVERYTHING YOU DO, YOU ARE THE REAL DEAL, YOU ARE THE BEST!

I tried your recommended products for my fine colored hair along with my current professional shampoo and conditioner. (Pureology leave-in conditioner, Redken Big Blowout styling cream and Redken 22 Thermal Spray.) I can't even begin to tell you how this combination immediately transformed my hair. My hair was perfect all the way down to the ends! I am on Day 3 and I don't even feel like I'm ready to apply dry shampoo, so I'm going to go another day or maybe longer. I am extremely happy with your recommendations and grateful I came across your KZbin channel. Thank you so much. The only thing I would like to improve is to learn how to make the curls last. Per my usual routine, I used a curling iron to create beachy waves and I used hairspray afterwards. These products made my hair silky and while it looked beautiful, the curl didn't hold. I have plenty of body in my hair and I typically don't have an issue with the curls falling out. I tried using my curling iron on Day 2 and the curls still would not hold. I'll search for one of your videos that addresses this issue.

Financially I can't buy all the products at once so I buy them every salary date, so thank you for this, it makes me feel comfortable with my hair journey and splurge, and the fact that I have fine hair too made me wonder if it won't weigh my hair down. I bought my first recommended product that will be here today.

Yay, finally someone who knows! I have 3C curly, bleached blonde hair. After shower I use the moroccan oil leave in & comb through. Then i mix the moroccan oil with the moroccan smooth cream, rub, rub rub rub & apply raking through my hair. I get bouncy, light, volumnious locks (other products can leave it almost flat), shiny, so soft to the touch & i can refresh with 1to 3 of these depending on the type of day or even if i plan to go 2, 3 days without washing this stuff doesn't build up like most others. If i will be home during a no wash day, i won't do anything the second day and i wake up with a great head of hair. I remove hair tie & leave it to fluff out/ get the tie mark. 2 no wash hair i would refresh if you have curly hair as I don't produce much oil bleached or not. But because i go blonde it can use added hydration but not that my hair is in dire need in any way. I am looking for a sub for these 3 moroccanoil products to no avail. I have gone in, called a few salons and they recommend 1 and say thats enough even though I've told them the 3 moroccanoil i use. The 3 not only make my hair fab, but they have longevity power, giving me two days of fresh lookin hair. But they also do different things as our Blowout Professor mentioned. For me the key products are the leave in condition & oil (I only love the virtue oil but not enough for curly, bleached hair on its own. I sometimes use it on the second day) The moroccanoil leave in conditioner & oil work well outside the moroccanoil line. Thank you Professor!

@florinacovaci8703 so I'm finding that the shampoo definitely helps with keeping the oil at bay for longer. I returned the olaplex oil because I felt like it wasn't working for me, and I had another kind, but I've been wondering if I should get it again. I'm actually at a transitional point right now trying to figure out which styling products work for me, so I'm not thrilled with my hair at the moment, but I do recommend the Pureology leave-in conditioner and the Redken Volumizing S&C. It feels nice, I just end up messing my hair up with styling products. Lol I might have to go back to just the basics for a while.

Hi Chris! Please help: A lot of people do not know the sequence of product use. I have extremely thick dry hair - prone to frizz. It is curly but not kinky. I am trying to build a weekly healthy hair routine. Am I doing it right? 1.Shampoo and apply conditioner or (masque?) Let it set for 10 minutes Rinse off 2.. Apply Olaplex 3 and leave in hair for 15 minutes to 45 minutes. Then rinse. 3. Apply leave in conditioner 4. Apply heat protector for blow drying and flat ironing.that 5. Apply WOW FOR HUMIDITY PROTECTION 6. BLOW DRY. 7. Apply Moroccan oil to ends of hair Do I have these products and their application in RIGHT ORDER? I am thinking i should shampoo first THEN APPLY OLAPLEX 3 ON CLEAN HAIR. and then follow with the conditioner. Or, before i do anything else, do I apply Olaplex 3 on dirty hair then rinse after 10-45 minutes and then shampoo and apply conditioner and continue down my list? Do i have my applications in the correct order? I sure liked that bread and oil demo you did. IT MADE GREAT SENSE!! So, what heat protectant do you love best of all? I am a cosmetologist and can get it. Is it Purology? What number,? THANK YOU WITH ALL MY HEART!!!

Hi Chris, thanks for all the videos. You are brilliant! I have a few questions that I’d be so grateful if you could answer please - apologises for the essay. According to your hair quiz I have medium hair and it is just to the bottom of my shoulder blades in length. 1) I’m in the UK and can’t find the Pulp Riot shampoo or conditioner. I’ve got the Redken volume injector on the way but as I air dry quite a lot as well I was wondering if there was another shampoo and conditioner you could recommend for air drying aside from the Pulp Riot? 2) Similarly I’m having trouble l finding the Pureology Leave in Spray. Lots of places will of had it but it is sold out of stock everywhere. Do you know if it’s been discontinued or do you think I’ll be coming back into stock. Incase it doesn’t is there another leave in conditioner than you would recommend. 3) Currently I have the Dyson airwrap and some GHDs and I’ve been debating about getting the Revlon One-Step or an actual hairdryer (currently just use the hair drying attachment on the airwrap) with some round brushes. If I could only choose one is it better to get the Revlon Brush (or similar brush) or would an actual hairdresser is better? 4) Do you have any tips on what to look out for to find a good hairdressing salon? Over the past few years I’ve chosen salons that seemed ok with good reviews but ended up with disastrous experiences that cost me a fortune to sort out and save my hair as they had bleached it so much. The hairdresser who corrected my hair was great but she’s a 2 hour drive so was hoping to try and find a more local salon. I’m just so worried it’ll go wrong again that it’s taken me 9 months and spotting the grey to make me brave going. 5) Finally, I have about 2 inches of hair that is a bit scraggly. In you video you say if someone wants to grow their hair do not get hair cuts but I’m not sure whether I should get these ends taken off or if they will improve so can be saved after using your recommended products. Thank you for reading if you got this far. I would really love to hear your advice.

Hi Chris I have recently found your channel and are super excited to try you recommended products and hair routines, but I have one problem to solve first: the leave-in conditioner you recommend is not purchasable in my country and I can’t find any store online that can ship it here. My question to you is if there are any other leave-in conditioners that are good enough that I might be able to find here? I have looked around and in one site a product is named leave-in conditioner and on another site the same product is called leave-in treatment and therefore it’s hard to know what to choose. Also, a lot of brands states that their products are “professional” without really being, so I appreciate you work with you videos that helps a novice like me to choose wisely.

This is so interesting! Ok so is there anything different you'd suggest for wavy (fine) hair? With my hair, I end up having to style basically everyday since once I sleep on it (I do put it in a bonnet), the next day it's a mess. Also, how do you determine the amount of oil? Naturally my hair is already very soft but with figuring out styling wavy hair, it's quite frizzy. It also gets weighed down easily. I don't have a diffuser so I do let it air dry. Any help you can offer would be amazing!

For tip 1, i agree that skirting around professional shampoo doesn't help. I got acne on my scalp because i chose to do "healthy" shampoo that has "no this" or "no that". Didn't help. I do want to experience less chemicals in my life if i can help it and decided to try a shampoo bar and conditioner that claimed to have clean ingredients but with a standard cleanser ingredient. My hair never felt so light before. Still have oil build up the 3rd day which is usual for me, but still a good start.
