Your hair routine has helped me go 4 days between washes AND I use a blow dry brush to dry. Olaplex 3 before shower once a week, Redken extreme lengths shampoo and hair mask, purology color extend leave in, Redken big blowout cream, and olaplex 7 to oil my ends and my hair has never been healthier or more beautiful. I’ve even ditched my flat iron because I don’t need it anymore.🎉🎉🎉

Yep, I use my dryer attachment to get most of hair dry and while it still has moisture I use the brush to smooth it out. Leave in conditioner is also crucial in that it helps to keep my hair tangle free. This channel has helped me get healthier hair that is growing well and long.

Swear to god I’ve been doing it all wrong. Everyone says your hair should be 75% dry before you use the blow dry brush. Ugh. Watching all your videos. My hair is ALREADY healthier! Sharing with all my friends!! One question…should you rough dry your hair at all or dry while very wet ?

I’ve been getting my hair done professionally since 1997. I’ve watched how the stylist does it for many years. I flip my hair upside down, focusing on the roots. Then I section it and use a round brush. Great results , especially if you use a heat protectant. Olivia Garden or a boar bristle brush are what I’ve found to be the best brushes
@tigerheart3579

Love boar bristle paddle brush to add volume after I use my blow dry brush. I flip my head over, brush underneath all around, then brush the top into my style and bam instant volume and a little bend around my face. I have long layers in the back and face frame in the front. I have fine hair and this lasts my three or four days. If you train your hair to only be washed a few times a week it produces less oil. I grew up in the 70 and washed my hair once a week and did an overnight set on sponge rollers. I had rocking bouncy curls all week. The trick is to not touch your hair.

I've been following your tips for around a year and my hair has gotten much better. But even if I get my hair all the way clean and don't use heavy products (I have fine hair), the max I can go without washing it again is 2 days. I think it's just genetics for some people, my skin is really oily too so I kind of accepted my fate. Thanks for all your help!

@@z.m4825 @angie9427 Same ! I have oily skin and oily hair (even at 32 YO lol). I used to last two days max. Now I clean my hair twice, sometimes three times (...) and sometimes I use the strong Redken cleaning cream but my hair goes bad so fast. I do the dry shampoo too to make me last three days but my ponytail looks disgusting on the second day ! Maybe I'll try another dry shampoo (his reco is not available in my country) or maybe I just need to be patient (I've only been following his products, etc for the last month or so).

With my fine hair, once I sleep on it one night, it’s wavy and frizzy the next morning no matter what I do. I am following your hair washing system and using the products you recommended. I even tried to sleep with my hair in a side braid once and they just made it tightly wavy and frizzy. I don’t have long heavy hair - mine is light and fine, so right now I just let it be whatever it wants to be on my non wash days, maybe pinning the sides up or I just put it up in a claw clip. I wish my style from the first day lasted as you say it will, but it doesn’t.

I have long hair that is naturally curly so when I sleep at night after styling I brush it up with my fingers and over the top of my pillow when I sleep on it at night, make sure though your room is cooler so you’re not sweating! I leave my fan on at night. In the morning you can literally run your fingers through it and it’ll be good to go, if you get a few curls or areas that curl in just use a flat iron on the ends only! I never re heat the roots that have volume already added it’s not necessary and you want to hold the volume

Chris, your advice and tips have been great. But there is a problem. night sweats. I wake up every morning with a web of broomstick hair because of sweating at night. I have a cooling pillow, silk pillow case and fan blowing. I have to use some form of heat if I want to smooth that mess out. Truthfully I wear my hair up a lot because I just can't do that every day. I still only wash my hair every 4 days. If anyone has advice on how to keep it from getting this way in the beginning and taming it safely in the morning I'll take it.

Hi Chris, after following your advice for shampoo and styling products, I find that I can go 4 or 5 days in between washings. Thank you for all the great info. As for blow dry brushes, I use one when I travel. My shoulder length, fine hair sometimes gets kinked overnight despite tying it up and using a satin pillowcase. I find that using the cool setting really helps get the kink out and refresh the style without heat. I think this may only work for fine hair. I don’t have to do this all the time, just every once in a while. Also, I find that using the cool setting as the very last step in drying each section, really seals the style. Thanks again for all the great advice videos.

i recently got one of these, and it turns out i was already instinctively using the goldilocks method! another perk i find of using this is that when you grab your hair, you can stay aware of how hot your hair is getting. when it got too hot, i would use the cool setting so that my hair didn't stay at that extreme heat. i have long, colored hair and i hope to keep growing my hair longer so im very aware and afraid of heat damage, so it took me a long time to even start using a blow dryer. using a leave in conditioner spray and heat protectant spray beforehand gave me the confidence to finally use a hair brush dryer and my hair feels and looks so much nicer than just air drying.

Your videos are life savers! I have curly hair and was considering buying a blow drying brush, but if it shouldnt be used on dry hair, how does one touch up or refreshes their hair in the morning if their hair is curly and curls back easily?

I guess my confusion lies on why we can't use this form of heat to touch up our hair but you can use a straightener which gets about 3 times hotter than a blow dryer...

Question..... How do you effectively clean your blow dryer brush (like the Revlon one in thisvideo)? I have watched your video on cleaning your hair brushes but i wouldn't think you could soak this type. I have several because i have tried different brands & they tend to get dirty/oily. I currently use the Drybar Double Shot. Thanks in advance

Thank you so much for your videos! They ve helped me a lot already. Can you please say something about humidity? After blowdrying wavy or curly hair doesn't stay in shape for long. It s very frustrating. Since you re in Florida I guess you have some experience with it. Thank you!🍀

I have very thin long hair. What do I do if I have already slightly damaged my hair from a blow dry brush? I just started using Redken hair products which seems to have helped. Is there anything else I should be doing? Your videos have changed my life. Thank you for all of the knowledge.

I can easily get 2 to 2.5 weeks from a blow dry. It’s thick, dry and coarse and never looks or feels oily. It does start to smell like road kill in the 2nd week though…😁

Thank you Chris! So useful! Would you be able to review the Chi 44 Iron Guard Style & Stay Firm Hold Protecting Spray please?! Really curious to see if it's an actual iron guard, because it's part of that line, and if it's got proper heat protection

The thing is, reviews of the Revlon brush say it gets way too hot. The L'Ange runs cooler and has two heat settings. I can use it to touch up my dry hair in the morning and it gets way less hot than using a hot brush or flat iron.

Hi Chris, thanks as always for golden advice! I just wanted to tell you that following your prescribed hair care routine has been an absolute game changer! I took your quiz, got the products for my hair type, and have been following your after shampoo routine. All I do now is style my hair with the blow dryer brush after washing - and my hair looks amazing! 🥰🥰 Thank you so much! ❤

This doesn't work when you live on a farm. If I'm not going anywhere, I might go 4 to 5 days without washing my hair. This also works better in winter. But in the summer, if I've been outside sweating, my hair might not actually be dirty per se, but because it's naturally frizzy/curly, I will have no choice but to wash my hair if I need to go somewhere. Especially since I had to cut it all off after almost all of it fell out after I got covid. It's just now getting to my shoulders. I also use professional products, Biolage, Redken, Kerastase, Pureology, etc.

After you finish applying those products on mids/ ends, “clean” your hands at the top of the head, smoothing flyaways down. It’s ok to do that.

Thank you so much for you videos, after youve helped me having amazing hair witch i always get complimented on, i could help my husband with his hair journey - he had to wash his hair everyday and it got oily again! Now he can go 3 days without a problem! I still got a problem tho. In one video you said there is no straight hair, but no matter what i do the is no wave going on, ive tried products, air drying, drying them upside down, round brushes, braiding, etc . The only thing giving me some lock is with a lot of heat of a curling iron, which i dont do often. I do have a blowdry brush now and i use the products you are recommending, all i want is me ends to turn a liiiittle out but nothing happens. Its just spaghetti, i dont know what to do :(

Ufff, just bought one but I'm quite scared, my hairdresser said that I have 0 spliss and completely healthy, thick hairs, that I only have to come back in 7 months, my hairs are hip length and I really don't wanna damage them in any way, never use heat devices besides my blow dryer after 30mins; thought this could be a great alternative and perfect for using the Dream Coat Supernatural spray, but I will try it and see if my hairs change, hope it will stay healthy🤞🤞😘

Hi Chris, On your volume video you talked about using big blow out on the scalp. In this scenario are we using what's left over on our hands or are we putting more in (How much?) Please do a head to head to head video on bigblowout vs Redken sky-high (?) Vs Kendra Love to actually see the difference on fine hair Thanks 👍🏻
