Well done! Great video. A little bit different from Australian way and how they have gone in the last 3 years. When I had my hearti 2 years ago, I was setting the room up for a First Aid course. It's nice to have a plan that has been practised so many times before actually comes together on the day when it matters most and that's why I'm still able to be here today to talk about it. My students saved me. God bless them.

Do we stop check compression during charging the AED?
@ellaenchanted87987 жыл бұрын
Yes. The machine should say to stand clear
@joe-fr6fg6 жыл бұрын
he would mean can he apply chest compression while AED is still charging.
yes, if not you can compromise the analysis of the AED, being that with CPR you simulate the contractions of the heart, the AED could take the compressions as sinus rhythm

2nd rescuer should do the breathing, after 1st is done with compression, bc it is exhausting by itself... don't know why it is missed in the video
@johnwhiffin23608 жыл бұрын
That iks not the correct protocols carry on for two minutes then change over. It was not missed on the video
@umk3mafioso8 жыл бұрын
John Whiffin are you sure? in the latest ilcor erc recommendations i believe it was not established. Few years ago i've been taught so, 1st is breather,2nd compressor,3rd rises the legs, and they change each other after a while, when the compressor gets exhausted. Seems very reasonable to me
@JohnWhiffin8 жыл бұрын
Team CPR is really used for ambulance if just a first aider we teach ERC Guidelines one rescuer does both breathes and compression's for two minutes then second rescuer takes over and so on and so forth until ambulance arrives
@danielezanetti38368 жыл бұрын
You should teach a unique protocol to a non-healthcare provider; while one is performing 30:2 for 2 minutes, the other stands-by, then change. Actually, it's true that instead of standing by, the 2nd rescuer should take over in artificial breathing, permitting to the other to concentrate on compressions. This video shows the protocol; when you're in classroom and simulate, then you can experience different ways of managing the algorythm.

Very clear video, thank you. Under the new ERC-guidelines, is it allowed and advisable that AED-pads are placed under clothing? At 2.32 a shock is given while the pad is almost fully covered.

but with most AED manufacturers this will cause the AED to note 'analysis interrupted, motion detected'. Unless you are using Zoll seethruCPR or the new physio one. An ok film otherwise. Preferred your previous videos - they were better.

there was a 13 second interruption during AED analyzing rhythm until pressing the button..it says minimize interruptions, interruptions should not be more than 10 seconds, yet the video just did.. will it be applicable to resume CPR during the time AED tells you "shock advice"? since it takes time yet charging until telling pressing the button. any thoughts?
@UsgBifJgpwltA2 жыл бұрын
The AED clearly said "Analyzing heart rythm, stay clear of the patient" so you can't touch him/her during the procedure. Think about it, the machine has to analyze his heart rhythm set by his own pacemaker and not the heart rhythm you give him when you do chest compressions.

If you're not confident with the technique or you don't have the mask, just perform hands-only CPR in an adult. These are the guidelines.

As it is clearly shown in this video that it is a cardiac arrest since the patient/victim collapsed suddenly and the AED delivered a shock, I think the patient would benefit greatly by having Compression Only CPR. It will promote an increase in systolic pressure and would make the AED much more effective since in the adult the issue is circulation compared to children and infants where is respiratory in nature - providing compressions and breathing. I would also have the second rescuer briefly check for a pulse thereby offering feedback to your partner that their compressions are performed at the right depth and position, then have the second rescuer maintain an open airway throughout the compression sequence allowing for more oxygen to enter the lungs.
@johnwhiffin23608 жыл бұрын
This is for basic first aid we do not check pulses and it is shown that compression only CPR is not as effective.
@danielezanetti38368 жыл бұрын
Your personal opinion should be reasonable but does not match actual scientific evidence published in official guidelines. Compression-Only CPR is for bystanders without any training in providing artificial breathing and yes, it should be encouraged at all times. But, at the moment, artificial breathing is NOT removed from any BLS protocol because no evidence was made that they are expendable. However, a bystander who is not willing to deliver breaths, should perform only chest compressions. You're mixing up bystander with healthcare professionals. Our BLS-D protocol is different and this is clearly stated in the official ILCOR guidelines manuals.
