Columbo is a classic, I used to love the way he always stopped when walking out the room and he’d always say Erm just one more thing 😆. No pick ups for me this week but I did pick up the Equalizer boxset with Edward Woodward last week from CEX. I’ve not watched it since the original screening back in the day and I’m loving every minute of it. I do love my classic box sets and two of my favourites are the professionals and the sweeny and I’ve lost count how many times I’ve watched them.

Hi Alan. A bumper week of new releases and a couple there that I haven’t heard any announcement for over here including The Peasants. Intriguing that it stars Saoirse Ronan and Cosmo Jarvis….I enjoy Roy’s channel too, that’s great he sent you A Man Escaped. I have the Criterion release and it is my favourite Bresson film. Au Hasard Balthazar and Mouchette are really good too but very bleak….Too bad about the shop break in and there probably wasn’t even much in the till

Hi Neil, I’m assuming your releases are exactly the same as America (sorry if I’m wrong) usually you guys get these releases sooner rather than later but I guess with the superstores not a]stocking new titles as much, you will have to fall back on Amazon 😬 I’m not usually a fan of French cinema especially from that era (after studying it for 2 years in film school) but this one surprised me 🤔 yeah regarding the till, they are usually emptied for the night, they probably caused more damage cost than what they took…idiots. Great video. I have collected all of the classic Doctor Who limited editions. Picked up Immaculate as well as The Flesh and Blood Show: the Pete Walker collection from 88 Films which also came out today, it has seven movies in the set, one of them The Flesh and Blood Show was partly filmed in Brighton, but not set in the city. The Columbo set looks great but I already own the complete series on DVD.

Great detective work Alan . It’s really a shame that a small business like that gets robbed. there’s probably a lot of people that like that place and some idiots have to ruin it for everybody. I hope the police found that register dusted for fingerprints.

Hi Mike, ironically the crime happened on the same day I showed Columbo 🧐 I did tell the police in the end but I doubt they did anything, they usually don’t on issues like that, they will just issue a crime number for the insurance company 🤔 take care mate👍😃👍

Colombo was a excellent TV show. It’s gets shown from time to time on stations in Chicago land and cable stations I’m a big Peter Falk fan

Surprise surprise hmv didn’t bother to get in any of the pete walker flesh and blood show 88 films box sets. They are very lacklustre with the big boxsets recently. No doubt fopp will have one in store. I’ll go there instead at the weekend. Can’t wait to grab the crazy family and immaculate also. Be spending well over £100 on new releases this week.

Hi Jimmy, it seems that anything over £50 doesn’t get a shop release, they tend to leave that to online orders, I showed the Columbo set a couple of weeks ago but I think that was someone’s order to be picked up 🧐 hope they had the box set in Fopp for you mate…yeah an expensive week 🤑 take care mate👍😃👍

Hi Lisa, yeah it was about 7:30 so not many people in the area (as the shops don’t open till around 10am there) it’s usually a very safe area, there a lot of high end designer shops 🧐 I doubt the police did anything in the end, I did manage to report it an hour later as I live near the police station, the scene was all cleaned up this morning when I went by 🤔 take care Lisa 👍😃👍

Hi Alan, great video, I personally prefer the Kino Lorber Columbo set, it's got a slicker look to it and is more compact and also comes with a nice booklet. I wish I had got into the older Doctor Who because I know its beloved but there is so much of it, I love most of the new stuff though

Hi Ollie, yeah I agree the Kino release also comes with a booklet and a separate release for the further installations… unfortunately it’s region locked and I have a region B player only 😬 yeah there is a lot of older Doctor Who out there and it can seem overwhelming 🧐 cheers mate, take care👍😃👍

That Columbo set looks great... Columbo was never truly an individual show. It was part of the NBC Mystery Movie series with McMillan and Wife and McCloud. I have McMillan and Wife and I need to get Columbo next. Great crime solving skills. Did you ever get to contact the police from one of the shops?

Hi Erik, that’s interesting, it was show over here as a separate show, later we got McCloud (I used to love that) I’m not familiar with McMillan And Wife though, I will look that up. @@kermitsghost McMillan and Wife was a crime solving show, sort of a TV version of the Thin Man movies. It starred Rock Hudson and Susan St. James. But it hasn't stuck in our hearts like Columbo has.

Hi Steve, Fabulous Films tend to use flimsy card with their packaging which is annoying (considering the cost) you do have to be weary because of the amount of cases and weight. I’m not a fan of those card slots, I have a Batman set like that 😬 cheers Steve, take care mate👍😃👍

Hi Gary, gotta love Columbo 👍 yeah he wasn’t my favourite doctor either but much prefer him to the newer incarnations 🧐 unfortunately there’s no natural light in the shop and the lights they use causes the flickering, I’ve tried changing the frame rate on the camera but to no avail.
