Starting off with Gobblers Knob! I thought id clicked on a Jamie Powell video for a second! West Wing was a great show but id hold on to your DVD set as the Blu-ray's are the edited syndicated streaming versions sadly with many scenes missing.

I have picked up Red Dawn limited edition steelbook on 4k. For this weeks newly release films. Plus, a ton of older 4k and standard Blu-rays films.

Sorry I'm a little late this week; busy with my own video 🤣. Love the _Kermit_ badge BTW. You won't be surprised to hear that I picked up the *Venom: The Last Dance* 4K steelbook... same with the *Red Dawn* 4K steelbook *Dead Mount: Deathplay* certainly sounds like something I'd like, but not at £45 for half a series; maybe it'll be in next Christmas' _AllTheAnime_ 'reduced prices *_AND_* BOGOF' sale for 2025 (oh no, I mentioned the C word the earliest ever!)... though to be fair Part 1 only came out 6 months ago and has dropped from £45 to about £30 already. I was so pleased when the 4K of *Last Voyage of the Demeter* dropped through my letterbox with an unexpected, unadvertised and really nice satin finish slip (fair price for a 4K new to the UK too). Sad for slip lovers the Blu-ray isn't so adorned. I really enjoyed this when I watched my German import and hopefully the 4K's Dolby Vision/HDR will go even further to improve the detail in the dark scenes. I hear *Wolf Hall* is good (and the book, of course, won the Booker Prize... famous because Hilary Mantel got the Booker Prize for the sequel too; a unique occurrence I believe). *2073* ?, more like *2025* depressingly... still sounds interesting as I enjoy dystopian stuff and it's a good price. Much easier to add things to my 'Wish List' as I'm watching now as I've finally activated my 'Alexa' so I can just add it verbally (I'll look up any specific variant and pass over to a proper linked list later but this speeds things up when watching 😉 *Into the Deep* looks like it might be a fun addition to my 'shark collection', especially at that great price. Everyone, including yourself now, have told me how good *The West Wing* is and, though I've never seen an episode, that really nice looking (slim) set might tempt me at last... a bit expensive to import at the moment, but happy for you that it's not region locked. Luckily (for once) my shelves were built for DVD, as mentioned in my new video 😉 so will tak these oversized sets as well as German digibooks. Lucky you had your DVD box after getting rid of your DVDs. Great video, as always 😀👍

I have the older DVD sets of The West Wing. Totally worth owning. That BR box packaging is egregiously bad. It's also a salient series for our current dystopian times. Nice haul.

I actually started to watch Gavin & Stacey and only got as far as Series 2, 1st episode. I never brought myself to watch anymore and as such could not watch the last episode. You certainly - with the help of your daughter - gave that old West Wing DVD box set a new sense of life and purpose, Alan.

Hello again! The West Wing is my favorite all time show. I have seen the series a minimum of 5 times... and many of my favorite episodes even more. And I so agree Aaron Sorkin is one of the best modern writers for the screen today. Besides having the best dialogue and with that the best cadence of character speech, he has a flair for plot where often things don't necessarily follow A B C... There will be different plot points introduced and they are integrated so well and never come out what you expect or in the order that you predict. I hope you enjoy and it was well worth spending the extra $$$ for. Have a great week!

I like what you've done with the West Wing box set Alan, I need to do something similar with my Babylon 5 blu ray box set, the packaging is shocking. I used to love The West Wing but had to endure the original channel 4 showings via the ol' tv aerial as we didn't have cable or Sky. So every summer there'd be episodes that the signal would just die off due to the weather and i'd miss several weeks worth. Never did see the end so its one i want to rewatch Same with NYPD Blue which i'm now rerunning on Disney+. 🥳 Thank god this little problem has now gone away! 😄

I have Winchester 73 on a German Blu-ray but I may pick up a Criterion copy in the future if i can get it at a good price in CEX or a sale. Loved the diy Blu-ray box set you put together Alan, you obviously spent time considering all the details and it looks really good, maybe people will start designing their own packaging for their favourite titles, would be interesting to see

I bought the limited edition blu ray of The Haunted House Of Horror a while back, I remember being scared sh#tless as a kid watching it 🤣. All these old horror films are very cheesy now but still worth a watch.

Great pick ups there Alan. I picked up Last Voyage of the Demeter. It has had mixed reviews, but I really enjoyed it. Great conversion on the West Wing box set, I thought the blu ray box set was a bit plain to be honest. I've never seen the show,it does sound interesting. I picked up the complete House of Cards recently, but have yet to watch it. Which is better do you think, West Wing or House of Cards ?, cheers mate 👍.

As a former HMV stockroom lackey, it's finally good to see that your local HMV employee has got their finger out and started stickering products properly (most of them anyway). Usually looks like they have applied stickers going past on a bike 😂😂 Thanks for another good one, Alan, I'll certainly be picking up the "Stand By For Action 2" blu-ray as I was there for that and the previous concert, and I like the look of those Fox reissues at £9.99 👍👍

What a week for releases... Half of these would enter my wishlist if my wishlist wasnt long enough already! How much of the movies that you buy are from used shops like CEX? There's a few places like that near me (2nd and Charles and Half Price Books). And as always... Have a wonderful week!

Hi Alan. When I was over in UK last year I went to a couple of CEX’s. I can’t remember now if discs were out on display for all DVDs and blu rays but they certainly were for many of the ones I looked at as I was shocked at seeing how badly scratched some of the discs were so put them back on the shelf. I bought a few titles from them but not many

I hear next time you g to Europe you won't be crossing the Engliah Channel but the George Washington Strait (as per to Mr Trump's plans according to some sources... though I don't know if they're serious sources or plans!). Never been in any CeX where the discs aren't held separately behind the counter... that's why I check every time as I've had them put in the wrong disc more than once and it's harder to prove once you've left the shop 🤔. *The Gift* has arrived and I'm interested to see what I think. *Casino '45* looks like another _Jezebelle_ that started as a 'proper' adult movie but with enough plot left for a regular release if the R18 stuff is cut... UK version is 89 minutes, US/Canadian is 75 minutes (so even more cuts) but IMDb has the original runtime as *150 minutes* ... hmmm 🤫 Never picked up *Road to Perdition* though always intended to; could be my chance. I'll get the Doctor Who, of course (I have them all), but there's no steelbook shockingly no steelbook, like last year's *The Church on Ruby Road* which is now £10 so I'm glad I waited. *Twisted Metal* went on to my wishlist before Christmas but it's another I don't need day one, especially as it seems quite pricey (though to be fair it's a full 7.5 hr series not a mini series)... I'm trying to be good; honest! I really _should_ watch *All About Eve* though I don't need to pay full price; though at only £9.99 how much further will it drop? No such temptation with *Cleopatra* as I already have the 50th Anniversary edition (with slip). MORE tempting anime... at a high price that rarely drops... at least *Frieren...* is 4 episodes longer than a usual offering and at the lower _end_ of the normal scale. _Radiance_ . _Japanese Noir_ and _Limited Edition_ - not sure I'll resist for long. *Vixen!* seems expensive and relying on a 'reputation' to get buyers though it is uncut and has 2 commentaries. *Story of a Cloistered Nun* is on my list so I can compare to the other couple of _Nunsplotation_ pickups I got last year... but the other Italian I got made in the same year didn't impress me so I'm not rushing into things... even though I might miss out on the slip. Never knew *The Boys* had a spinoff... must watch *The Boys* though! Ive not watched it all but I love what I've seen of *Justified* and got the Blu-ray 1-5 set (the only wat to get them on BD in the UK as they aren't available separately). Overall far too much stuff I want! Which includes that *Magnum P.I.* reboot; not available it seems from anyone else except _Imprint_ I've never seen *Tank Girl* but had friends who really enjoyed the comic books it was based on... Nice gift from Paul, not easy to get either, like *The White Queen* ... my Mum, being born in York, would approve 😉 *Wild Robot* - of course it's great; I just don't want to be blubbing all movie!
