A little context regarding the Day After Tomorrow joke - Trey and Matt got a copy of the Day After Tomorrow script early and found it so absurdly laughable that they wanted to make the entire film with puppets and release it the same day. This became Team America: World Police via tons of back & forth with the studio, and so the joke on the film was just written into an episode of the show.

Heard a similar story except the original idea was Armageddon and h puppets because they found that film so absurd. Now we have disaster movie, so someone ran with that idea.

Family Guy&South Park bit goes wayyy deeper! It's from the episode of the Super Friends. All of the major religions figures Jesus Buddha Allah etc. And Muhammad was animated. From my understanding it's not appropriate or it's probably a sin if ones is to depict Muhammad in any manner. Matt Stone and Travis Parker put up a decent fight to keep the episode original and all the characters original. The ONLY South Park episode. That South Park actually went back and "changed" the animation so to not show Muhammad. But they actually didn't take Muhammad out. They just covered his caricature with a sensor bar. But (You can see Muhammad uncensored). In the original Super Friends episode. Muhammad is depicted. But when's Super Friends was reintroduced like a decade later or so. It got super political!!! What national security threats and stuff were happening over it. Matt Stone & Travis Parker Never Back Down! They did concede here to the untrained eye. With the sensor bar. But if you read how I had to write out "you can see Muhammad uncensored" T&M still got em. But you should look into that if you if anyone's interested because that was unprecedented for South Park and they still kinda got away with it kind of. Lol 😂 These are the same guys on I think it was Emmys the red carpet anyways. On LSD! 😂
