I went through flight training with your dad, James, and we were stationed at North Island for our first duty stations. After that, we went our own ways, career wise. When you see him, please let him know that Jeff Wolf says hello and I'm still sorry I made him late on his very first day reporting to HC-1. I hope he's forgiven me! 🙂 Great job with the Blues and best of luck in NavAir!

Went to El Centro to see the new jets this year. Boss and I think #4 had to make an midshow landing. #1 ladder had come loose. Down they land, maint team comes shooting across the field and fixes the prob. #2&3 are circling the field. Boss and #4 take off over the hay bales. 3&4 join them when they are about 25' off the ground in the diamond. It was the coolest thing I have ever seen the blue Angels do. I missed it on video, Mike missed it. I have never seen it on video. If the LCDR was #4 on final Friday at EC you were a part of history. Ryan you have to go there. Thanks for sharing the story.

What a terrific video. As a Navy “brat”, I grew up watching the Blues. Now that I live in Mobile, it’s so much fun to be able to see them all the time. I must say that “Tootsie” has been our fave in recent years and loved watching El Centro vids…he had the best landings! Looking forward to the base reopening to allow us back to practices. Hoping you have a long and satisfying career.

Unfortunately I'm working and can't see the Air show in Loveland this year. Luckily I work at a golf course that overlooks the same airport. I'll be watching in the sky from a far. It was pretty bad ass walking into work and seeing a couple super hornets on final approach. I haven't seen the blues in 20 years. I was nine when I saw them at Loveland airport, I'm 29 going on 30 this year. Hearing the roar of the jets brings me back in time. I still remember swimming in my neighbors pool with my buddies watching the blues practice formations over our subdivision. Memories that will never be forgotten.

Since I was a little kid growing up in Delhi living closer to a fighter base, I would sit out all day and watch fighters practicing. I loved Blue Angels since I was a kid watching them on discovery. Somehow I ended coming to the US and joined the Navy as an AM. Left the navy to purse degree in engineering and every part of me would love to join as an officer and be a fighter pilot in the Navy because they are the best of the best.
