We live in a world where Venom has a trilogy and Blue Beetle couldn't even have a movie. That's not fair. Blue Beetle's lore hasn't even been explored, there's the Expansion, and they missed the chance to do that in this movie and unfortunately I feel like they're going to throw the character into limbo with this supposed animation.

To be honest, the Khaji-Da in this movie seems quite nerfed compared to other versions. The Blue Beetle can take on other forms and he is unbeatable. In this movie he got beaten up and had his armor broken at some points.

One thing that really makes the film seen off is the quality in terms of how its presented on screen, specifically the way everything looks like its a TV show. Definitely should've been filmed differently to fit more with how usual superhero films were films a while back. Film has it's faults but isn't necessarily a mess or a hard pass. Definitley couldve been better but still worth a watch even if just once.

Beautiful and well-made film but with an exaggerated and Mexicanized humor to the max, which ends up seeming racist, although obviously it is not, imagine a gringo movie that was Chileanized or Peruvianized... it would be horrible, but they couldn't have chosen a better actor than Xolo himself, and thanks to Cobra Kai he had the physique and training to kick ass.

The plot was mediocre, but the movie itself was fun, if you don't expect too much. It's a shame, because the movie could have been better, with a better villain, they could have used The Reach or La Dama, who are linked to Blue Beetle lore. The movie could have been a thousand times better. Unfortunately I don't think they will make a sequel, just because the movie wasn't well received in theaters. The sequel could have been better, being more faithful to the first comics.
