This was a good first film. Simple origin, just enough easter eggs for comic book fans and easy to get into for casual viewers. Also the suit being practical makes most of the fights look much better; plus the choreography was great, you get to see Jaime get more confident and pull off cooler moves as the movie progresses. It really was a good movie, I just wish more people went to see it.

I know this movie wasn't a fan favorite for die hard fans of DC but personally I enjoyed it, I was 19 when I saw it and was in a pretty bad time in my life. I lost 4 family members while I was stationed over seas and went into a pretty bad depression. I watched it in theaters with my friends who took me to go see it and I had a good time, growing up Mexican and watching only stereotypes in films got old pretty quick but when I watched this it was so accurate it was funny, the uncle who still acts like he is in his 20's, the bond with family and them cheering you on you when your accomplishing something great even when its embarrassing, even the Abuela with the insane backstory.

To be honest, the Khaji-Da in this movie seems quite nerfed compared to other versions. The Blue Beetle can take on other forms and he is unbeatable. In this movie he got beaten up and had his armor broken at some points.

One thing that really makes the film seen off is the quality in terms of how its presented on screen, specifically the way everything looks like its a TV show. Definitely should've been filmed differently to fit more with how usual superhero films were films a while back. Film has it's faults but isn't necessarily a mess or a hard pass. Definitley couldve been better but still worth a watch even if just once.
