You really need to learn to execute a Spladdle submission hold. So many times you could've put him in the Spladdle (a combination of banana-split & Craddle) and rolled him til his chin presses into his own throat and his chest compresses until he can't breath and submits

Im 29, and I’ve been training Jiujitsu somewhat consistently since November of last year due to having 3 herniated discs in my neck. But I wrestled in highschool and trained a little bit at other gyms in my early 20s. I’ve rolled with some pretty solid blue belts but I’m only 1:37 into the video and I’m really impressed with your skill at blue belt. You seem to know more than the average blue belt if I’m not mistaken.

yes he is very good for a blue belt, his skill is at least that of a brown belt. Congrats on starting Jujitsu, the wrestling will help you a lot for takedowns and ground control. Question did you do all 4 years of high school wrestling?

I did BJJ for just a couple months which is too short to get a single stripe so when I started MMA I didn't tell anyone I'd grappled before. After dominating & subbing a guy who'd been doing MMA grappling for a year I got told I was sandbagging & should have mentioned I'd trained before. Is it important to let your training partners know what your background is? I just assumed people would sense it & be like ah yep that guys trained before. I don't think it really makes sense mentioning a couple months of training especially since I don't even have a BJJ rank.

Damn a scissor takedown. I would've been pissed lol, that move even when done correctly causes leg breaks but I'm not sure if Jedi knows that or not. Me being 250 lbs it would be awful if I were to do it to anyone and most gyms would consider it malicious intent on my part, so just me personally I would rather people not do it to me.
