He thought he would get any with it because it's his brother, buy Jamie pulled his card and Danny didn't like it. Danny technically didn't have a leg to stand on. Any other CO and they would have suspended him.

It it blows up its on the one who gave the order. There has to be rules or there will be chaos. The end doesn't always justify the means.

Danny may be hothead but in this instance, Jamie was letting his stripes go to his head. "Oh let's hold back and wait for SWAT" in a precarious situation where the perp was armed and dangerous and there were numerous people at risk.

They just get payed a good bit more for a different kind of work. Also as a detective first grade Danny has no upwards growth without giving up being a detective which will never happen.

Frank couldn't intervene for 2 reasons. As a father your grown children should be able to solve a dispute on their own like men. And as the police commissioner he can't say anything. There is a hierarchy for this for a reason. There's people that handle this and if he was to say anything then the police commissioner would be choosing sides in a dispute between two of his officers. Which he can't do. His hands were tied.

A lot of you in this comment section really doesn’t know how police work truly happens 1 Jamie even tho he has less experience than Danny with hostage negotiations he is still incident commander on Scene which means he makes the calls and also every officer out there was under his command. 2 he gave Danny a order and Danny being the hot head he is he disobey that order and entered which not only put the hostages at risk but also the other officers which if that would of happened that wouldn’t have been on Danny that would have fell back on Jamie why because he if the ranking officer on scene and 3 Danny was made disrespectful to Jamie in this moment he saw him as his little brother and not his sergeant if any other commanding officer would of told Danny to stand down and wait he would of why bc he know he would of gotten suspended and wrote up if he didn’t Jamie did the right thing writing it up bc he’s a boss now if the officers under him saw what Danny did and he got away with it then they would try to do the same so he had to show them that even his brother wasn’t safe from getting written up for breaking protocol
