I’m still picking my way through your back catalog of videos. This one was pretty cool. Like y’all said, you wouldn’t think a tiny little pocket of water would be productive for crabbing, let alone the size of those ones. They were nearly all monsters! p.s. - Sam and Joyce… if y’all ever feel the need to adopt a 44 year old son, I’m available. I don’t want money or anything …. Just want to get to fish and crab with y’all, and get to eat some of Joyce’s delicious-looking cooking! Lol 😜

Hi guys when you catch crabs in America do you have seasonal limits on size and amounts? We can catch clean and cook crabs in our seas in the UK, but during breeding season in the winter months we’re not allowed to catch spider crabs, so effectively allows harvest for future breeding stock and numbers. Same with Lobsters. Our common brown crabs we can pretty much catch all year round and they get too some real big sizes, Especially their monster claws which are delicious.
@TheOldCoupleOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
In Florida we can catch Blue Crabs year round with no size limit. We have a Stone Crab season from October to May, you just keep the claws. Thanks a lot for Watching, Matt
@matty68482 жыл бұрын
@@TheOldCoupleOutdoors right thought so. Yes the blue crabs seem plentiful lovely that you can catch them all year round. We had limits on what we could catch but that was due to those stupid E.U regulations that quite frankly don’t make any sense, but since we voted Brexit and left the E.U and it’s control hopefully Britain can start thinking with common sense again and allow us to crab fish all year round. The British seas are super rich and plentiful with fish and shellfish stock too the point our commercial fisherman had to pour tons and I mean literally tons are perfectly edible fish/shellfish back overboard because they caught more than there quota. All this in a economy where folk are struggling too survive financially and our fishermen are literally throwing fish stock back in the sea!?… utter madness, but that’s the E.U for you, so you can imagine why we voted too leave. It would be like the Mexican or Canadian government in a union telling you as American citizens and fishermen how much you can catch. Sure you’ll agree it’s madness.
@TheOldCoupleOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
You're right that doesn't make any sense. Thanks again for Watching

love the videos. one problem that I have up here in VA is the snapping turtles. when they are around they will debone the chicken extremely fast. they will make the hand line jump crazier than a hungry crab. they never stay on the line long enough to see them below the surface. i have caught a couple in my ring traps though!!
