Hi Sam. You guys had a rough day with the crabs letting go. You should try the spring loaded traps that ive been using. I use them on my fishing poles to cast out, but you can attach them to a hand line and just drop them off the dock. It would definitely help on thise days when the crabs seem to drop off all the time. Those crabs there seem to be consistently larger then here in florida. Happy Anniversary to you both..🫂
@TheOldCoupleOutdoors8 күн бұрын
Ed we've been meaning to get a couple of those spring traps like you've been using, we want to try them in the winter when we're in Mississippi when they move out into the channel. We caught them casting out chicken legs with a heavy rod but traps should work better. We enjoy using the handlines because they're so simple and we just try to catch enough for dinner when we're in Mississippi. Take Care, always nice hearing from you

The best crab bait that I've ever used, is pond Bluegills and kind of sunnies.
@TheOldCoupleOutdoors8 күн бұрын
We never tried them, the best I've found is a bunker (menhaden) very oily fish. Thanks for Watching our videos
@RemoraTrading8 күн бұрын
Well, we're not about to stop watching them! My wife and I love the content and recipes! If you can, give sunnies and Bluegills a try. We used Bluegill heads and skellies in our traps on the Hudson River in NY, and they come running for them. Bunker is really good! Where we were wasn't too easy to come by, we were too far north. I sure will be waiting to see the results if you do try them. Best of luck to both of you! Stay warm and safe for the holidays! Our Best, Paul & Lisa Oh, butterfish is really good as well. The only place we can find them down here is the Ifresh market in Orlando, similar to an Atlantic bumper. If fresh caught, they make for a fine meal! But much better bait.
