My kids and I just started handlining for blue crab this week. We're fairly new to crabbing, but we go fishing almost every day all summer (I want them outdoors, not glued to a screen) and we found your channel looking for tips on how to use hand lines. You two are so enjoyable to watch, we now just watch you because we like you. And we're catching more crabs on hand lines than we ever caught with our ring nets!

I don't use a gauge. I drew marks on my net. Starting at the metal neck out 4.5 in out to 7 in . That way I don't to remember a gauge. Due to the fact I don't have one.

I just made a few of them for something to do on a rainy day, in Florida we don't need to measure because there is no size limit. When we use just a ring trap in Mississippi our net isn't with us. Thanks for Watching our videos
